SOURCE: rangemaster sxs u109100 fridge freezer temp in fridge +15

Hi - can't solve it but ours has started doing the same - ours will only work if the fridge temperature is selected to 9 C (press the button under ~Ref Temp until cycles round to 9C) then it controls to 9 - if the temperature is set to 5C then it seems to give up and goes back to 15 - don't know why but will investigate more

SOURCE: The Fridge of my Rangemaster SXS Fridge Freezer is freezing up

You probably have one of the following problems: A failed defrost system, meaning the defrost timer and/or element has gone out and your evaporator coil is frozen over; you are low on freon and this too will cause your evap coil to freeze over until the freon drops so low all cooling stops; . Unless you have gauges, a licence to buy freon and service valves (or a buddy with such) you are limited to what you can do. Here is my advice:1. unplug the frig and let it defrose over night, or unplug the frig and empty the freezer to remove the back cover to look for ice, a frozen fan and if so get your hair dryer out and melt the ice so you can test the fan and the defrost element (you will need a volt/ohm meter to do the element check. You can do it.

Maytag sxs; freezer frosts up no defrost + runs all the time + fridge side is cold.? Thanks.

Try to turn the defrost timer manually to force into defrost. If the frig defrost the ice then replace defrost timer. If unit dose not defrost the ice then check defrost heater and replace if needed.

Sxs fridge freezer is cold but fridge not

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

Freezer works but refridgerator does not . light works and coil fan woks

Since you did not mention the manufacturer breand, or if it is a top freezer/ bottom food section, or if it's a sxs- I can only give you some general diagnosis:

Top freezer model and sxs
1. Are your controls in the proper setting?
1. Check to see if there is any "snow formation" on the evaporator cover. If yes, then you most likely have a defrost issue

2. Is defrost drain clogged ( top freezer model). If defrost drain is clogged then water can "spew" over into air diffuser and cause an airflow issue

3. Make surer you are getting air flow into the food section i.e. the fan in the freezer blows the freezer air into the food section. You might havve an air difuuser that is not opening

I have a GE SxS that I bought in Sept. 06. About

First you need to turn the freezer temp control back on(That just turned the whole refrigerator off)
The water dispenser may have stopped due to line freezing inside the refrigerator.
The ticking could have been the the element for the defrost cycle or the starter on the compressor.
So,turn it back on,set the temp to a normal setting and if the ticking is still there, wait 30 minutes to see if it stops,If no ticking is there when you restart it,wait 24 hour and check the temp inside as well as the water and ice dispenser,If all work,It is a defrost issue. If so you will either need a defrost timer, defrost element,or defrost thermostat.
If the ticking is still there,You will need to replace the start/run capacitor.
