Your speaker is NOT a device that the computer can detect. You got a bad sound device problem. Check your motherboard's site for support (for built-in sound card). You might need to reinstall the sound card drivers. Try to check in the "Device manager". You must have the sound device installed before sound can be heard from the speakers :-)

Printer does not print -- it's sounds like it is about to print and then stops

unplug it and plug it again.
make sure there's no jammed paper. make sure there aren't any other error messages. check to see if the paper is installed properly, etc.
make sure it is properly installed. check out if the printer options in control panel are set right. etc.
you should be able to troubleshoot and find the problem.

No sound from speakers systerm

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this
right click to install driver also
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable)
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your sound card dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems

hope this helps

I upgrade my dell lab-top to windows 7 but now I can not print anything on my canon pixma ip3000 printer.

Are you directly connected to the printer? Did you download and install the drivers? (For Win7, this will happen in Windows Update. However if Windows Update isn't set for automatic installation for drivers, you will need to start Windows Update and install the drivers. Just check for updates and install.) Was the laptop connected to the network when you installed the printer? (Windows Update needs the network - make sure your firewall didn't block the program. Wired networks are in many ways better for Windows Update since there are fewer dropped connections.)

Does the printer show up in Devices and Printers (Start > Devices and Printers)? What is its status? Try a new cable or a different port. Make sure the ports are working (check the device manager (Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager).) If these aren't working (shown by an x in a red triangle or an exclamation point (yellow triangle) then you should try to update the driver for them.)

Once it is working, you may want to download and install the add-on from here: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=117&modelid=10238#DownloadDetailAct

I hope this helps.

(to download and install device drivers automatically adjust the setting from the System part of the Control Panel (Control Panel > System and Security > System > Advanced System Settings. Choose the Hardware Tab and Device Installation Settings.)

Speakers dont work! Not even with earphones! Help!

Open control panel>> administrative tools>> computer management>> device manager.
There u will find something like Sound, video and game controllers.
Next, double click ur audio device and see that the device is working properly or not. If not, then install the drivers for the devices.
If problem persists, type run in ur start menu search bar>> type "regedit" and press enter.
Open the registry editor>>HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG>>System>>CurrentControlSet>>enum>>HD audio(or like that, may vary with operating systems and mounted devices) and finally search through to SPEAKER CONFIGURATIO. See that the registry data is set to 4. If not, set it manually.
If problem persists, contact service centre.

I am not getting any sound from desktop speakers..i have sony driver installed

Onboard audio is disabled in the BIOS
The BIOS Setup program is accessed by pressing the <F2> key after the Power-On Self-Test (POST) memory test begins and before the operating system boot begins. Go to the Advanced > Peripheral Configuration menu to make sure onboard audio is enabled.
Audio settings in the sound mixer are incorrect
Check your audio mixer software to ensure audio is not muted or the volume level is not turned too low.
The speakers or headphones may be connected to the wrong jacks
Make sure you connect all speakers to the correct jacks. If you connect them to line-in or microphone jacks, they won't work.
Audio drivers are not properly installed
Check Device Manager under the Sound, video and game controllers section for any errors associated with the audio driver. Reinstall the audio driver if necessary.
Audio to back panel is muted if front panel is connected
Check your audio mixer software for a setting that mutes back panel audio if you have plugged headphones into a front panel audio solution. Uncheck this setting to allow audio to both the back and front.
Sound Playback is set to wrong device
In Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices, go to the Audio tab. Check the default device for sound playback; there may be multiple selections. Select the desired device, either rear panel or front panel.

This computer was given to me a little over a year ago and it has never worked with speakers. Even when I put head phones in it will still not work. I know the speakers work because they worked with my...

If this is a desktop or tower system, check where you're connecting the speakers. Maybe a PCI sound card was installed and you're plugging into the jack for the integrated sound.

Make sure integrated sound is enabled in the computer's BIOS setup. It may have gotten turned off somehow.

Try reinstalling the sound drivers. You can usually get the latest versions by visiting the manufacturer's website. The drivers may have become corrupted or been uninstalled.

In a laptop computer, check that the manual volume control (some laptops have them) isn't turned all the way down.

As a last resort, add new sound hardware. For desktops, get a PCI sound card or USB speakers that just plug into an available USB port. (These would work for laptops as well.)

Hope this helps. Thanks for using Fixya!

HP3600 USB printer works but won't print on my HP7058 Laptop

Try removing all ports from your laptop, then reboot, and then create just one USB port. Also, go to your hardware devices and make sure your usb ports don't have any question marks or yellow warning symbols. Be sure first that the drivers for your USB ports are installed and working first. This sounds either a faulty USB cord, which does happen, or USB drivers issues in your laptop. The printer is probably not the problem here.

check o see if the speakers are working on something else. if so make sure your computers volume is turned up. you can do this by looking to the bottom left hand side of the sreen , you will see a little speaker. double click it and your volume controls will appear.
if you do not see a little speaker then most likely you will need to reinstall your sound drivers.
