Question about GE Dishwashers

1 Answer

I purchased a diswasher (Hotpoint)about 1-1.5 years ago. It's model # is HDA3400G02CC and its SS# is TH887451Y. I don't think I registered it. No Matter, Two days ago, my garbage disposal stopped working. I checked the outlet. It had power. The switch to the Disposal was next to the outlet. I assumed that the switch was wired from the outlet. It wasn't. Bottom line, the switch nut was loose. I tightened it and problem solved. When I turned on the dishwasher, nothing happened. It acts like it has no power. I checked all brakers "O" results. I read the manual and it said to change the "fuse" or check the circut braker. My question is does this model have an inline fuse? If not, I don't know what to do. Thank you in advance for any assistance you provide. Richard Wright cell 573.433.1930

I purchased your service (telephone support) and the dishwasher expert contacted me. We discussed the issue, he made recommendations. I followed his advise and solved the problem. Before I could recontact him, he called to follow up on my progress. His advise was straight forward and correct and today my wife is happy to have her dishwasher working again.

Thank you,

Richard from Missouri

My hotpoint LSB 5B019B dishwasher is making random beeping noise during the wash cycle. A lot of stuff I've read on line suggests a reset. Does anybody have any idea how I do this?

I have encountered this problem a few times with this particular range of dishwashers and there are a few possible causes.

1.Low water pressure will cause the diswasher to beep during the wash. Check for kinked pipes or blocked inlet valve.

2.The waste hose being pushed too far down the standpipe or the standpipe itself being to low down causing the water to siophin out of the dishwasher. Check your instruction book for correct installation

3. Using poor quality dishwasher tablets can cause over sudding which has the effect of dropping out the pressure switch making the dishwasher think the water level is low

4. An intermitted faulty element can cause this

5. A faulty display board

The first 3 you can check yourself but the bottom two i strongly recommend getting a hotpoint engineer to carry out the repair.

Water from my disposal backs up into my hotpoint ($300-model) dishwasher. The dishwasher works fine otherwise. Is there a one way valve in the diswasher that is suppose to prevent reverse flow and/or is...

If it's what I think, it's a simple fix. Does your dishwasher drain run along the floor of the cabinet, then up to the disposal? (my guess is yes). There should be an "air gap" between the disposal and dishwasher, this means when it comes out of the disposal, it should go UP and be clipped to the highest point of the inside of your cabinet, then down. Think about it, sh*t flows downhill, but it can't get over a hump. Good luck

Technika Diswasher

Hi ,I have a leaking problem with aTechnikaTDX20W and have discovered from service that it is the spray arm which has cracked along the seam edge . This then spays the door seals and they leak. unfortunately the part is out of stock which seems to be a problem with Technika. If anyone can help with a new spay arm I would appreciate it. I have tried te glue it however didnt work. The dishwasher is only three years old and I am considering buying an Australian made one to ensure parts. Worth a check of yours. Regards,Brian.

Problem with hotpoint aquarius fdw60 diswasher

My mother has a neighbour who has a new hotpoint dishwasher which caught fire inside (Plastic on door front melted!).

Please contact Hotpoint - if yours is new, check to see if they can replace immediately otherwise its worth booking the engineer to sort £90 - free parts on machines less than 5 years old.

I have a Hotpoint FDW70 dishwasher

Disconect POWER at breaker or fuse panel which should be on a seperate braker. if not find the power sorce and unplug the device. FOR SAFTEY Kneel on a thick doormat if you have to disconect power which has a plug. Wait for a an hour so to let all circuits, timers and motors to cool ... with diswasher in the OFF position, Re-establish POWER. then go ahead and start washer as sugessted by the Manufacturer. Make sure to notice any other codes that may appear. Or any peculiar noises. Most default codes appear if water pressure is too low. Top loaders are natorious for plugged drain lines and can be flushed by the home-ownwr. Make sure to check that water strainer is not cloged or restricted. Hotpoints CODES change from year to year, You can contact a Hotpoint Dealer in your area ... Give him the Make, Model, and any Series numbers to him. MOST will tell you what the CODES ARE FOR THAT MODEL OR EVEN E-MAIL ALL OF THEM TO YOU. Good Luck ... Be Safe Joe Rex
