Hey, thanks for your reply. My printer is a Lexmark 5000 series. I did remove the printer software from my computer (Windows XP) . I reloaded the software and during the install, I got the same error message. There must be a problem with the software, but I have no idea what it is. I contacted Lexmark and they sent me to a website to get the latest drivers. This still did not fix the problem. Guess I'll toss this printer and go buy a different brand. I hate a company that can't support their own products....and it IS their problem.

I do not understand your question. You did not even give me the kind of printer that this was. Try reloading your printer drivers and clear anything that you have tried to print from the printer.
I can't fix this for you, but if I helped you get it fixed, please rate it as a fixya not a helpful rating. These ratings let me be allowed to help you and others in the future.

You have not given enough information for this to be solved. What O.S. is this? Have you tried to install the drivers again and have you updated the drivers? What kind of printer is this? Make and model number.

How to Configure a Wireless Printer

Wireless printers typically come with a transmitter that a laptop, with a wireless adapter, can connect to and print from any location in a home. In order to configure a wireless printer you will need to install the drivers and software from the installation CD that came with the printer. You will be able to run the configuration for the printer driver, for the laptop, at the end of the software installation.

  1. Insert the installation disc for your wireless printer into the drive on your laptop computer.
  2. Wait for the Installation Wizard to appear.
  3. Click the "Next" button to continue and go through each screen to install the software for the printer.
  4. Select the option to "Configure printer driver now" on the last screen of the Installation Wizard.
  5. Click the "OK" button when the Information dialog box appears.
  6. Select the printer port for your printer when the Printer Port Setup dialog box appears.
  7. Click the "OK" button when the "addport" dialog box appears.
  8. Click the "Next" button to continue.
  9. Select your wireless printer from the list of installed printers when the Add Printer Wizard window appears.
  10. Click the "Next" button to continue.
  11. Click the "Connect" button when the Configure Printer Port dialog box appears.
  12. Wait for a connection to be made with the wireless printer and then click the "Finish" button to exit the Add Printer Wizard dialog box.
  13. Repeat this process on each computer that you want to connect to the wireless printer.

Try pressing F-8 and look for last known good working configuration.
If you are trying to reload from CD/DVD drive and it continues to boot into your old windows configuration, Enter your BIOS settings, and change the boot order to CD/DVD and then Hard drive

Hp tx 2000 screen does not show after boot up..wat can i use to get this to work.

Can you hear the hard drive spinning and does the computer appears to be running but you get a blank screen? If you look at the LCD screen at an acute angle and you see a dim image. then you have a backlight problem. To determine if you have a video card problem or a lcd screen problem, Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first and then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight.
Get back to me with the results of these tests and any error messages etc. so I can advise you.

Solution for "my laptoop seems to want to boot but when is is done booting the screen turns black and remains that"

If the laptop appears to boot up and you can't see an image on the screen, you need to determine if the screen is faulty or the video card.
Connect an external monitor to the laptop's external video port, power up the monitor first and then boot up the laprop. If you get a normal video image on the monitor then the video card is OK and the fault is with the LCD screen.
If you don't get an image or POST information, then the LCD screen could be faulty or the laptop didn't boot up.
Please get back to me with the results of your tests and any error messages etc. so I can advise further.
