Question about Troy -Bilt String Trimmer/Blower Attachment #41AJBT-C966

I have a cracked fuel tank which I tried to fix but it still leaks. Would this affect the carb adjustment as I can't seem to keep the engine running unless partially choked.

If your cap isn't venting then the leak could cause a vacuum that may rob the inlet of fuel. Could be just enough to overpower a wore out pump diaphragm powered by a weak pulse from the engine. But then you would have to be leaking fuel everywhere.

No shouldn't affect that. Try using a mixture of super glue and baking soda smear it on and press into crack I have had good luck with this when many commercial products failed.

Carb flooding randomly after been cleaned has mind of its own

Hi Andrew, you could have contamination in your fuel tank and filter, or you have improper float height adjustment, or a cracked float that is filling up with fuel. Good luck and have a nice day.

Fuel delivery on carb 350 chevy marine engine

Hi!
It seems your fuel pump fails at idle speed. I would first ensure that fuel pump is well fitted, no leaks, and good diaphragm condition.

After warming up my 350 will not idle down, over rev's and seems weaker than it was power wise. I compared compression to my dads exact same saw and they are identical? His runs excellent and strong...

Sounds like it is running a little too lean, replace the fuel filter in the fuel tank first, check the fuel hose up to the carb for cracks or leaking, to make an adjustment to the carb screws will require pulling the anti tamper sleeves back on the screws, you will only have a small amount of adjustment before doing this, to pull them back you need to find a very small self tapping screw, this will screw into the end of the plastic sleeve, when it strikes the screw head underneath the cap will draw off, do not pull it right off, only far enough to insert a 2mm flat screw driver through the middle of the sleeve and turn the screw underneath, screw the L screw out 1/4 turn, and the H 1/8 turn out, then see if it has made any improvment, erratic/fast idle can also be due to and air leak, or the small impulse hose from the cylinder has cracked or come adrift, to check this will require removing the carb, the pipe is a small curled pipe conecting the carb fixing plate to the induction tube.

I have a Craftsman High Wheel trimmer that will start fine then run for a few seconds then stop. It's seems like a fuel problem but not sure. I changed the air filter but thats all. Any ideas

Lots of things can go wrong with fuel delivery on these machines. carbon builds up[ in the engine and muffler system...ethanol laced fuel helps break down the sensitive carb parts and especially the fuel lines.
If you feel like it,open up the carb and take a look inside for any debris especially on the real fine mesh screen on the fuel pump side under the mylar diaghram. Check inside the fuel tank for a bad/dirty fuel filter and/or brittle fuel line...Fuel lines develop cracks and holes, thus leaking air and affecting the carbs operation. A rich mix starts these engines but if the mix becomes too lean, they won'd idle and if you run them too long this way you can cause engine damage due to the lack of gas./oil used with so much air entering the system. Don't be afraid to look around and poke around for other problems. Pull the spark plug and either clean it real good or replace it. It gets a build up on it sometimes that needs to be removed (especially down around the electrode insulator (the white part under the tip).

My ryobi grass trimmer will only run on 1/2 choke model RY 30524

Check for fuel supply problems (clogged cap vent, dirty tank fuel filter, clogged or faulty fuel intake lines, leaky or cracked primer bulb, air leak in rear crankcase cover...check 4 screws above gas tank, air leak in carb gasket...check carb nuts, trashed up carburetor...needs cleaning or rebuild, mixture screws need adjusting)....a myriad of possibilities here but I would guess it's a dirty carb....hope it helps

MY MANTIS 7222 WILL NOT RUN WITHOUT THE CHOKE BEING NEARLY CLOSED. CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENT OR REBUILD TIME?

Two cycle engines must have a completely sealed crankcase to work properly. When the crankcase is sealed, the air to fuel ratio is set by the carb to optimize the operation of the engine. You can try the carb adjustments, I'd suggest backing out (counter clockwise) the high speed jet, if it has one. If not, it's a fixed jet and you'll have to disassemble the carb to clean it. If your engine on runs best with the choke on - the air to fuel ratio is messed. In other words, either you have a restriction in the carb preventing the engine from inhaling enough fuel and you're using the choke to get the right air to fuel mixture OR by restricting the air intake (putting the choke on) your engine is getting its air needs from some other place, such as a leaking seal or gasket in the crankcase. If you run the engine like his for long, you run the risk of burning up the cylinder and making a boat anchor out of the unit. A two cycle mechanic would do a pressure test on the crankcase to check for air leaks. If you're not able to have someone pressure check the engine, your best bet is to look for loose screws on the cylinder/crankcase - and to make sure the fuel delivery system (fuel filter in the tank, fuel line, and carb diaphragms) is in proper condition - replace the filter if dirty, fuel lines if mushy, and put in a carb kit. If that doesn't fix it, you've likely got an air leak that's going to require a mechanic with the proper test plates to find and fix.

I have a murray 4hp that runs 15 sec per prime then stalls.

First. try using Carb Cleaner from spray can to clean carb throat, and putting Carb Cleaner in fuel tank.
If this does not work-
Removal of Carb is probably needed. Sounds like Carb is clogged and needs to be cleaned.
If this is a Briggs engine and the Carb sits on top of the fuel tank, can be that the pick up tube from tank to carb is clogged.
