Question about Bosch 24 in. SHU43 Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

No Power to the front display. Just went out in the middle of a cycle. Have 120V going to the dishwasher. Could not find a reset button on the motor. All connections dry & look good. (no discoloration) My thought was the control pannel??

I have what I beleive to be the control module in my hand. The part in question hase a direct power line going to it from the main power switch. It is also the part that the buttons on the front connect to, as well as it has the digital timer.

The part in question has a bad PCV Board.

Now comes the problem of finding a replacement.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The issue seems to be with the electronic control going bad and should be replaced however, before replacing it take it apart and blow some air with the help of hair dryer so that if there is any moisture it blows it off. Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

First...make sure you visit the Bosch dishwasher recall website as this model is under the recall with a faulty controller which may cause a fire! Check your model underhttp://microsites.boschappliances.com/sa...

then call 800.856.9226 to setup a recall repair appointment. We just found out about this recall and was never notified by Bosch even though we registered our unit after we purchased it...talk about poor customer service! Hope this helps!

The most common reset for the dishwasher is:
1. First, unplug the dishwasher power cord or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.

2. Then, plug the dishwasher power cord into the wall outlet or turn the breaker back on and wait 30 seconds.

3. After that, press the Pause / Cancel / Stop button twice to clear the display.

4. Finally, start a short cycle, to check operation of the dishwasher, by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the dishwasher starts.

I can not select a cycle on my belling idw450. Power is on

the program button on panel could be stuck or moisture in it. If there is no error displayed on panel, then take a hair dryer and on warm setting run it along the switch panel.
if error message is displayed then try to address the error first.
The program switch sits on top of the panel module which looks like this http://www.4ourhouse.co.uk/cgi-bin/product.pl?PID=1933696&query=Belling%20IDW450%20panel&model=IDW450&path=67231,297877:297772

It is the small board in front middle of the assembly.

No power or lights in the front panel

Check the fuse / circuit breaker inside washing machine. There may be a extra control circuit fuse normally on the control PCB.

your model should read:

Has power all the way past the latch, but cycle selection buttons dont respond

Hi nipdoes2,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: You followed the power as far as the door switch.

If you follow it past the door switch you'll find a bad control board. The power goes in but it doesn't come out. It's an integrated circuit so it must be replaced. Check with the manufacturer for the part.

Feel free contact me again!
