Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

Razr V3, charging the battery

I had started hearing beeps on the phone the other day, and when I tried to charge it, the charging icon was turning yellow with red lines. I thought the battery was going bad, so bought a new one, but when I tried to charge it, it is still doing the same thing. (showing yellow with red lines while pluged in) so I figured I needed to know if this was a good thing?

Charging

It's beeping because the battery is completely dead and needs to charge. If beeping doesn't stop after a while of charging, you may need a new battery or a new charger.

Dead battery won't recharge

if it still new and you've still got the warranty then you should ask for replacement of the whole unit.
seems that the problem of your phone is the unit itself, the charging circuit migth have disorders/malfuntioning.
ever tried checking for the specifications and directions for charging the unit.
i greatly suggest that if you got the warranty still, have it replaced.
good day!!!

Phone wont turn on!

i have noticed that the mini plug for the charger and usb connection on RAZR V3 is sometimes sloppy. when the phone is charging it will definitely say battery charging on the external display and also flash the battery icon. i also noticed that the plug for the wall outlet is touchy.
make sure the plug is secure in the wall outlet
make sure the mini plug is secure in the phone
gently wiggle these connections if you have to till you get the battery charging message
if there are any connection problems there will be a unable to charge message instead.

Motorola RAZR flashes Cingular logo and then disconnects when phone rings

It may be just a faulty battery
I know you said it's straight out of the box but these things can happen.
try cycling your battery.
Step 1 run your bat now until it is low and phone is beeping to recharge
Step 2 Charger your battery for 4hrs with the phone on
Step 3 use it now until it starts to beep again and then repeat step 2.
Batteries are strange different types have different charge characteristics.
these do not like over night charging or being run dead flat they preform better if they are maintained with charge all the time
