SOURCE: Broken ice maker in a GE side by side refrigerator

Most of the time the spring just pops out of the keeper on the ice maker, If you push the feeler arm back and it does not come back out on its own then the spring has poped off. Look where the feeler arm attaches to the ice maker and there is a round spring between the feeler arm and the icemaker housing. There is one hole in the feeler arm ans one on the ice maker housing that the spring pops into. Its usually the spring is out of the hole on the ice maker housing.

SOURCE: feeler arm on ice maker prevents freezer drawer from opening

Hi, There is no adjustment on the level arm other then bending it. Is it posible that something snagged it as the drawer was being pulled out and bent it? The arm should collapse all the way down tothe side of the icemaker and level with the bottom of the icemaker.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if I can help further.

SOURCE: MY ICE MAKER FEELER ARM IS STUCK IN THE UP

Water is getting into the area where the arm pivots and freezing. This prevents the arm from dropping down when it should. I use a hair dryer to melt the ice in the area of where the arms comes out of the base. As soon as the arm drops, the ice maker will make more ice. This LG in the door icemaker is junk.

Your ice maker will move the arm if working properly. I bet the ice maker is dead and the ice forks are stopped in a position other than the home position

How do I get the ice maker to produce for the first time

Is the arm that gets pushed up by the ice cubes (in order to stop making ice when it is full) in the down position? it is able to be pushed up and locked so that the icemaker doesn't make at ice and may need to be pushed down.

Kenmore 795.5102 will not make ice

The problem is the ice maker, the modular head of the ice maker has broken, hence the clicking sound and the raised arm stuck up. You will need to have an accurate model number and contact a local parts distributor for a new ice maker. It is a simple repair usually only 2-3 screws.

Gss20I eph ice maker ?? If I turn the switch of

I am almost sure the model ice maker for your refrigerator is Click Here=> WR30X10093 and the model number for your refrigerator is GSS20IEPHWW or SS for Stainless. It sounds as if a bad connection on the ice fill arm. The truth is they are electronic and made in China along with most of the parts on your GE. I replaced mine that was the mechanical type with this same model number WR30X10093 and the mechanical lasted 15 years. If you manually can make it work one time and fills properly but after one cycle yet turns itself off my focus is on the ice maker. If you want to check OHM's to the dual water control valves they should both be about the same. Applying 120 volts to each side of the coils being water dispenser side and ice maker side will or should open them. But you just said that moving the arm that it will fill one time so I am back to the ice maker again. If water control valve for ice maker side did not work you would not be able to do that. Inoperative Ice Maker

The icemaker stops working because excessive water gets into the control box(where circuit board is housed) through the shaft hole of "finger" and freezes the wheels to turn the "ice-bucket-full detector rod". This stops to send the signal to open water valve.
To fix, remove the icemaker from the wall (need remove two screws - make sure power switch is OFF) and carefully separate the snap-on cable (retangular shape) and a ground cable on the bottom side of the icemaker. (Now you can remove the icemaker out of the refrigerator).
You can open the contol box (need unscrew one and carefully prop it open using a screw driver or a knife. You can unplug color corded snap-on cables for easiness to work (very simple).
You will see ice formed around the plastic gear wheel controlling the "ice-bucket-full detector rod". Remove all ice and dry all the parts in the box and put them back. Make sure all the cable are back to the matching color receptable(only fits in the right place). Connect the cable(rectangular shape) and connect the ground cable. Mount the incemaker on the wall using two screws you removed at first.
Turn the power ON and reset the system by press down the ice cube size selector until the "fingers" make a full cycle. You will see the metal rod moves up and down as system resets. During this cycle the water will be filled into the icemaker.
I believe this icemaker has a design flaw but it's very simple to correct the problem you are experiencing. You do not need much electronic or mechanical knowlege to fix this.
Best wishes
