I would like to install my printer because i cannot find it in my computer. I do not understand why it is no longer my default printer. My unit is an mfc-3360c. I cannot find my cd too.....thanks!

I am going to assume that you know about the option to look in Control Panel under PRINTER/FAX and that you found out that it is NOT there at all..... You can then go to this site and download the drivers needed to set it up. PLEASE let me know if you need anything further, a pleasure to assist you today! I understand your printer problem, if you are using XP, then please check to see if there are other printers on your computer that you may longer have. Go to your control panel and then click on printers. Delete any printers you no longer have.

Then go to add and remove programs and uninstall any programs associated with your HP printer.

Turn off your printer and unplug your printer from the computer.
Please go to the HP website by copying and pasting the below link into your web browser.
Select XP or other operating system, Vista or Windows 7 and download the driver / programs for your model printer, save to your desktop. Install program and about half way through the program will ask for you to plug in your printer and turn the power on. Follow the prompts.

If the installation advises that it cannot detect your printer, try another USB cable or port.

Hi there. When you installed the drivers locally to each computer, you should be given the option to select the device as the default printer. I understand that you have not chosen this during your installation process. The best options would be to either install this driver on the server and/or use a logon script to set as the user's default printer upon each log on to their computers.

How can install printer on the network


Install first the printer on one computer unit as its local printer.
If installation is successful then try doing this:
1. on control panel, double click the printer.
2. Right click on the model of your printer, and click sharing.
3. On the SHARING Tab, click the "If you understand the risk but willing to share printer click here" button
4. check all the box, then press apply.
Now on the other printer:
1. Double click printer on the control panel
2. click the add printer button, click next
3. check the box for browse, then next
4.check the second circle, then next
5. search the printer with directory of its computer
6. click next and try to print.

under the settings for the printer you will often see an option for power save mode. if enabled warm up time is significantly longer, hope that helps a bit.

I don´t understand, are you install the driver for printer, if you not you can find driver on hp site.
If you have driver for printer, and they dosn´t work, set you printer as default and chek you USB cable.
If you can´t find driver just ask, and I will give you URL.

do you know that Vista and XP are incompatible in terms of drivers?

Vista has many drivers for a lots of printers, but these drivers are "generic driver". The generic driver is a small driver, an incomplete driver, and has a limited functions.

Scanner failure


Hi,

I understand that you are receiving Scanner failure error.

Please follow the below given instructions to get the issue resolved.


Please remove the All-in-One Printer from the Power Surge Protector and plug it directly into a wall Power outlet, as the surge protector may not provide enough power to printer.

Let us power cycle your All-in-one to remove any static electricity in your All-in-one.

Please perform the step given below to power cycle the unit after removing the print cartridges from the printer:

1. Verify that the unit is switched on. Unplug the all-in-one from power and disconnect the USB cable from the computer.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Plug in the power only
4. Repeat steps 2-3 two more times.
5. On the third time after plugging the unit into power, reconnect the USB cable from the all-in-one to your computer.

Please try installing the below patch and check for the result:

Hp printer


THis is probably a problem with your driver.  Look through your installed printers on your computer.  See if the HP 6940 says fax somewhere on it.  If so, make sure it's not set as your default.  Set the other one as your default.
