Question about Panasonic DMR-EH57 HDD Recorder Player

1 Answer

Won't play! The machine is about 18mnths old, out of warranty of course. It seems to behave as tho there is a disc in the drive when there isn't, it makes a series of chirping noises for a few seconds when the tray is closed regardless of a disc being used or not and then says NO READ...the small 'disc in' indicator on the front is always on, it flashes for a few seconds when a disc is put in then stays on.

I have the same problem, it chirps when you first turn on the unit but wont read, play or Burn ? also only 18 months old. Did cleaning fix the problem ? sounds like to me the disc player is faulty ? can I reboot the system or install other software ?

You should use a Lens Cleaner (You can get it from any Computer Shop or Electronic Store) and clean your Machine's Lens with it as directed.

Netflix will not connect internet on vizio blueray player

see this steps and fix it. God bless you
    • 1 Reset the player if the device stops behaving normally. (Keep in mind that rotation sounds and picture issues during search are normal.) Select the "System" menu from the setup area and choose "Restore Factory Settings" or a similar option. Allow the device to restart and then try the disc again.
    • 2 Insert the disc face up in the tray. If playback fails to start or if it starts and then stops, wipe the disc with a soft cloth and try again. Throw out any heavily scratched discs that won't play.
    • 3 Change the "TV Aspect" to 16:9 in the setup area of the menu if the picture expands left and right or if the picture size is wrong and you're using an HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) cable.
    • 4 Set the wireless Internet router to automatically allow new devices to connect to it if the Insignia player won't connect to the Internet. The player uses only WPS to connect. Some routers that use different automatic setup protocols won't work.
    • 5 Make sure that the connection between the player and the television uses an HDMI cable if you're watching a Blu-ray movie. Some Blu-ray discs will only play over an HDMI connection. Also, remember that some Blu-ray discs won't work with PiP (Picture-in-Picture).

Panasonic BD35 won't play blu ray discs, but will play dvds

You may have come close to what the issue is---Blu Ray for several design reasons is much more critical than DVD---seen a lot with this issue----either a dirty or a failing optical pickup in the unit---I know as when first started seeing it in our shop changed a few and since under warranty found the answer--optical unit was the problem---shortly after that they started just exchanging the cheaper units.

My Sony dvp NS710H isn't playing most standard, well conditioned DVDs.

Hello
Just clean its laser pickup lens, by inserting a lens cleaning disc in to, and play it at least two times. If it doesn't help you, the laser pickup unit should be replaced. The lens cleaning disc can be bought from most of the electronic sparepart selling shops at your town, and won't cost more.

We have an old LG HDD DVD recorder. We are currently recording all our videos onto the hard drive and transfering them onto disc, but apparently there's some sort of code that won't allow any disc...

U can't get rid of their patended codes sorry, but u can bypass their patended codes by recoppying it all over again with a computer with a movies coppying software by buy an install software on your computer for recoppying it all over again, than u can play into any DVD player u want.

3 month old magnavox mdr515h/f7 is dead. It may be under some warr. Had power go off during a storm last night. Unit was plugged into a surge strip and other items on it are ok. don't know if it quit then...

My unit was dead also.....So I checked outlet first...It was good....Then I tried the 10 minute disconnect and reconnected unit......Saw Unit had power on LCD screen....Hit ON button on remote after changing to HDD and unit works perfectly again....That fix saved me 75 bucks for repair center to do same thing...Glad Funai makes units that shut off before damage occurs...Unit just needed to cool down hard drive or circuitry before it sensed it was ok again....When plugged in it is still technically powered even tho you dont see it on the LCD screen of the unit...

It shows "Incompatible Disk" on both Blu-Rays and regular DVD's --- some play and some don't. You just can't ever tell.

Hopefully,it still under warranty, looks like disc drive is going bad, repair would not be economical outside warranty sins drive cost more the new machine

It sounds like the recorder will only record the dvd+ format, which does NOT need finalizing to play in other machines. ( you can record a dvd- , play it back on the machine you recorded it on, but need to finalize it to play on other machines)
The other units may only accept dvd-.(dvd- being the same format as you would buy or rent a film on)
One option, record the dvd on a dvd+rw (if possible) then copy to a dvd-r using your computer. The average use of a dvd+ is 1000 recordings.
There are many free disc burning suites available to download. Just google "free disc burning software" and take your pick.
I use 1 called "magix goya base" for copying disc to disc and "NTI" for burning to HDD and then to disc, if you only have use of 1 drive.

Daewoo DV-6T955B DVD Player Problem

If your DVD is less than a year old, still under manufacturers warranty.
The problem you have "no Disk" is because the laser is not reading the DVDs.

Won't format and or won't read disc

I have a similar problem in that it will not record at all or not record very well.  It has a drive inside like a PC DVD drive called the DVD RAM drive. The horrible clunking (grinding) sound is the disc slipping in the spindle. Unfortunately here in Australia the fix is to replace the whole drive (AU$350)!!
I have opened it up and tried to adjust the force of the spindle and it works for a while.
Hope somebody has a better solution.
