Question about Avaya Corded Phone avaparp18d

No dial tone, ring on newly installed Avaya Partner 18D -- Yesterday I installed a replacement Avaya Partner 18D phone in my office (ext 10). It has been plugged in for about 16 hours. But when I pick up the phone/speakerphone on this new set, there is no dial tone on any of the four lines. The new phone also does not ring when called, either by an outside line or by intercom. However, you can make intercom calls from it. (Other extensions are working fine.) I have checked to make sure the phone lines are securely attached. Might anyone have an idea of what might be wrong? I am not very familiar with Avaya systems, and feel like I'm missing something simple here. Many thanks. :)

The first thing to do is to verify that it is actually extension 10 and that it has the right lines programmed to it. Theis can be done by pressing feature 00. The display will say "programming'and the extension number that it's plugged into. While in programming mode press the line keys to verify that they are the correct lines. press feature 00 to exit programming.

Plug that phone into the phone system directly. See if it works.

The jack might be bad. Do you get intercom dial tone? If not the jack is goofed up.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How do i use the intercom on this phone? My boss is wanting to use them but we don't have the manual and can't figure it out

Wow. The Partner 18D phone has two buttons on the lower left of the faceplate in the middle of the phone that are seperate from the 5 rows of 4 buttons. Those are your 2 intercom buttons. If you press one of those and pick up the handset, you'll get intercom dial tone. Your extensions are numbered 10 to whatever. By default, dialing zero will ring extension 10 and you can see what extension called in the display.

I need to set the ringers to only ring at the two receptionist desks and not everyone else's offices. Please help! We have Avaya Partner 18D phones.

Partner ACS systems come with Centralized programming instructions. Most of them starting with Feature 00 Left Intercom twice and Right Intercom. When you dial an extension, the lights will be solid or blink according to how it's programmed and you press each button to turn on or off or delay ringing.

Your system administrator should have a book.

We had a power outage, and when power was restored, the phones(Avaya Partner 18D) are on automatic answer. How do I restore it for a manual answer for the first several rings then if no one picks up it...

IS the system time/date correct?
Chances are that the voicemail is picing up and "Transferring call" to the operator (Ext 10)
The system will need to be re-programmed from scratch.

Lucent Partner 18D cant fully reboot itself

That one doesn't sound too good.
You could perform a reset through programming which should clear the scratch pad.
Thats done by entering programming on either ext. 10 or 11
Press feature 00 then the left hand intercom twice.
Next enter # 728, the display should say reset save all then reboot the system. If the problem is still there, then the processor is malfunctioning and will need to be replaced.

Get yourself 2 alkaline AA batteries, keep the power on, and look for the door on the lower part of the face on the ACS processor module. Pop the cover and replace the batteries.

Avaya Partner-18D office phone-After an intercom call, the receiver's phone rings

Try hitting the speaker button and intercom your boss. When you hit the speaker button to hang up, do you get the same thing? If not. It could be that the gray "clicker" switch that pushes down when you put the handset back isnt going all the way back down...

Let me know.
