it's not that I keep this all the way up so the larger cup will fit under, it dispenses coffee when I push the middle button for smaller cup or the the bottom button for the small cup, but when I hit the button for the larger cup, it grinds the coffee give one small squirt of water and then stops.

has nothing to do with the adjustable spout, no problem with cup fitting under spout, as I always keep the spout up for large cup no matter what size I decide to dispense. The coffee dispenses fine when I push for the middle size and the small size, but when I ask for or push the large size cup of coffee button it starts, grinds coffee as the other buttons do, but it only gives me one little squirt of coffee and then quits.

Yes it does let me select the large cup, but I only get a squirt of liquid and then the cycle ends, so basiclly the coffee dispensed is wasted it's not even wet enough to make a puck out of the grounds. The middle cup selection works fine as does the small cup selection. The unit is about 4 years old.

It's possible that ur large cup size got accidently reset to a min. Press and hold the large cup button to set the amount of coffee required. I known it sounds too easy, but that was exactly the issue I had, and took me a while to figure it out. Good luck.

Does it let you select the large cup, just does not dispense enough liquid when selected? Or can you not even select it? How old is this unit?

Thanks
Tim

Very strange, that tells me something with the management module in the device (the brain of the unit) so to speak is malfunctioning. There is no easy fix for this. If you happened to purchase the machine with a major credit card (not
a debit card) there is a good chance it may still be under the free
extended warranty most credit cards place on electronics. Please
contact your credit card company to inquire if they do this, and they
will be able to file the claim and get you a refund for the machine.

Otherwise you can have Saeco service the unit, and they can fix it, or you can just live with it as is. I am assuming you have tried simple things like unplugging the unit for a good hour, and replugging it in to see if it kick-starts the module into working again? I guess if anything you could always make 2 small cups back to back as the puck will still be fresh and it would essentially be the same as making one large cup.

I would call Saeco as see if they can estimate the cost to repair, it may be worth doing, but honestly I am thinking it is going to be cost prohibitive... their number is 1.800.933.7876

    Thanks,
    Tim

Since, the adjustable dual-spout dispensing head can be easily raised or lowered allowing different cup sizes. Espresso cups (4 oz.) or coffee mugs (8 oz.) can easily be accommodated.

Water pump in Saeco Magic Deluxe

If you haven't cleaned the brew group, or decalcified the unit I would start there. This is something I do every 4 to 6 months (or anytime I notice the flow of coffee to start to slow down). This normally restores the flow to the original flow level. If you have already done these things you may want to give Saeco support a call and see what they suggest. They are extremely helpful, although very difficult to get on the phone as the phone system they use is horrible and hangs up after you hold more than a certain amount of time.

The leak could be from the boiler valve housing- there are o-rings there as well and/or other components.
