I have about an inch to inch and half of light colored and looks to be horizontal line at the top of the screen on every channel. Haven't tried anything to fix at this point.

Hi there ! If you know technically try this :
1. try to adjust manually the trimmer at the vertical and horizontal section of your tv (located inside)
2, check for possible cold solder and try to fix it by using soldering Iron and soldering pump.
3.there maybe a change value of resistor inside the horizontal Section.
4. An open and leaky capacitor might also be the cause of Horizontal line at the top of your tv screen . thank you.

Scrolling screen

There's a horizontal adjustment that needs to be made in the TV. If you feel mechanically inclined, you can take the back cover of the TV off (Be very careful with this. If this is a CRT (picture tube) then there is a capacitor at the top that has ALOT of stored energy.) You will see a couple of potentiometers (Looks like a little black wheel with a slot for a screwdriver). One of these will be the horizontal adjustment. Very slowly try to turn this until it adjusts.

If you give me the model number and brand of the TV I can try to find you a manual that will help you determine which one to adjust.

Rainbow line on the top of the screan

you most likely have a defective optical engine. these usually become defective around the time the lamp needs to be replaced but not in every case.

Philips 28pw6615/5 tv

Got it now tried it on my own 28PW6615. With the remote pointing at the TV there are five coloured buttons on the top row. Immediately below these buttons are three buttons. The button on the left has what looks like a clock on it. The button on the right looks like a vertical double headed arrow with a horizontal line between them. If you press the left button together with the right button you will go to the "Installation" menu from where you can RF tune your TV.

I have a Philips TV model: 27pt9015d. at the top of the screen several horizontal lines have appeared. it looks like the top inch is being cut off and then flipped back. that is - when credits are...

sounds like the vertical adjustment has spanned beyond the screen, causing it to jump up and then upside down. after the cover is removed look for vertical adjustment and with a non-conductive screwdriver, adjust it a little bit either way to see if it fixes it, if it doesn't fix it, then look again for the right one.
