Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDF-55XS955 55" Rear Projection HDTV
It is not able to maximize, but it can perform pretty good.
The TV is HD Ready, not Full HD.
I personally don't have a blueray player, but With my Full HD computer monitor, the difference is huge between FULL HD video (1920x1080 pixels) compared to only HD ready (1,366 x 788).
To find out the difference with a HD television and a HD ready television, I would suggest you visit a TV dealer, play a blueray movie, view it first on a HD ready television of 1366x788 and then view the same short video or part of it on a HD television of 1920x1080.
You will get the first hand experience of the difference between the televisions. And from there you can decide for yourself, if you need a new tv or if you can get along with the old one.
