Go to the Device Manager (right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware), and locate "Sound, video and game controllers". Right click the audio device and click Uninstall IMPORTANT: Make sure you have a copy of the setup for the drivers. http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/devices.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=INS_PNT_6000&os=WW1&osl=EN

Laptop makes Brrrrrrrip sound randomly while listening to any kind of audio. Why is this happening, what is it, and how can I fix it?

Did you change / update any audio / video drivers? Its may be because of issue with drivers. Try reinstalling the audio / video drivers. First uninstall it & then reinstall. Update them if there is new version released by manufacturer.

sounds like it can be the hardware. try to uninstall and reinstall the latest audio driver then configure your speaker settings and volume settings. if this does not work, you may need to get the audio card or motherboard replaced.

Problem audio

There are a few likely causes with audio problems. Either you need to reinstall the audio drivers, you need to reinstall your OS, or your sound card just died.

1) Most likely, is that you just need to reinstall your audio driver, or update it. The link below contains the latest audio driver for the Dell Latitude D620. Download it, run the program, and install it, then restart your computer.

Click me to download latest audio driver!

2) If the sound isn't working from the driver, then you will want to try to reinstall Windows. Note that doing this will delete all of your data currently on the laptop. To reinstall, find the Windows disk that came with it and run it, follow the instructions. After you reinstall Windows, reinstall the drivers from your drivers/utilities CD that came with your laptop also.

3) If sound still isn't working, then your sound card/chipset has just died. Since it's a laptop, there's really no fix for this, however you still should be able to hear using headphones.

Multimedia Audio Controller not working

Delete the driver in system tools/services in configuration, and then reboot. It should reinstall the original driver. If it doesn't, chances are your sound card is bad.

Hi there, uninstall the soundcard in the System Properties--> Device Manager section of Windows XP/Vista (Press the Windows Key & Pause/Break)

Next time you reboot it will reinstall the drivers for you, that should help.
