I called QVC. She could not help me because I do not have an item #. A model number was of no use to her. I believe this is a dead end. I can't even turn the coffe maker on. When I plug it in a code appears in the window "op n2" with a beeping noise. Got any ideas? Ed

I bought it at a 2nd hand store. Never been used, just no instructions.
    Thanks, Ed

I believe this is a QVC item, you can call 800-367-9444 if you want a manual and information like that. If you have a specific question please ask away and I can help, but it sounds like you need a manual for the maker. That can be obtained though that number.

Thanks
Tim

Strange, it won't even turn on to operate? It's definitely a QVC item, did you buy this originally, or get it as a gift or something?

    Thanks
    Tim

Hmm, well it is a QVC item for sure. Try calling back that number I gave you, I found the part # from them, it is K23311 and tell them you need a manual for it.

    Thanks

fold a piece of paper or thin card board and put it in the hole the tab went in and you can have your coffee until you can find a replacement on ebay or amazon.

For future reference the Manual for the DBM-8 is here:

http://www.cuisinart.com/share/pdf/manuals/dbm-8.pdf

Available parts:

http://www.cuisinart.com/parts/coffee_bar/dbm-8.html

Here is another site for parts; they do not list what you are looking for but you can make an on-line inquiry for parts.

http://www.abtecparts.com/cuisinart_grinder_DBM8C.htm

Parts Inquiry:

http://www.abtecparts.com/parts_enquiry.htm

Unlike many appliance makers Cuisinart does not have an on-line search function for service centers. If they could not name one you might try contacting some small appliance repair shops; if not able to help they may be able to direct you.

Will not start making coffee push start after 30 second message on screen err2 model kcm5340bo gerald larsen 1-630-323-3112

This is to do with an error in the warming plate function. You may be able to cure this error by completely unplugging the coffee maker from the mains lead and then plugging it back in and trying to brew. If this does not help I would suggest trying to contact the manufacturer to see if it is still under warranty.

Hope this helps and thank you for usinf FixYa

Is your unit still under Warranty? If so, your warranty will be void if you do any kind of maintanence before contacting the Customer Service Department first. What area do you live in?

It seems withthis model you have a 1 year or 4000 cups warranty with this.
If you are within this, then give them a call - here is the Manual if you don't have it -
MANUAL -

I suggest you start by removing the beans in the hopper and wiping around to remove oils.
Then refill with fresh dry beans.
Plug in and set up as normal
Set to brew a standard large cup - and adjust grinder to coarse setting while grinding.
Do not adjust with grinder quiet - it must be done while rotating.

Make at least 10 cups this way at the coarse setting.

I think what has happened is that damp beans (frozen or cold) have entered the unit and caused the coffee to gum up at the top of the burr.
This will just push fresh beans out of the way instead of starting to grind them.

If you use dry (light loast) beans, it doesn't seem to happen as much.

Just ake sure you refrigerate most of your stocks, but keep a small stock at room temperature in an airtight tin to prevent this kind of thing.

You can actually push down on the bean stack slightly with a wooden object while the grinder is running if nothing moves on the coarse setting to get things moving.
