I had the same problem with my C541 player, I solved it simply cleaning the lens area with cotton swabs. No other "no disc" fake messages so far... good luck! Luca - Rome (Italy)

Clean the lens of the laser with a cotton swab. Remove the cover, and locate the glass lens at the top of the laser assembly. Pre-wet a cotton swab with glass cleaner and wipe the lens carefully without applying pressure. Use the other end of the swab to dry off and remove any residual dust or gunk.
Reassemble the unit and load a disc. If the problem was caused by dust or smog film on the lens, it should now play without any problem.
