This printer is attached to one of our computers at our workplace and this computer has to be switched on to enable all the other computers to print. unfortunately the computer to which this printer is attached has a serious error on it and i need to install the printer on another computer. is there anyway i can do this as we cannot seem to find the install disc that i am told would have come with the printer.

Open Printers and Faxes - click Add a printer - Next - select a network printer, or a printer attached to another computer - Next. 2. Select Browser for a printer - Next 3. Click on and expand the Microsoft Windows Network down to the computer with the printer - Next 4. Select Yes for - Use this printer as the default printer - Next - Finish 5. Right click on the printer - click Properties - click Print Test Page to confirm printer installation.

when we pause some prints from specific computer (if ur using lan) then go to computer where physically printer attached then print some pages and when printer utility display appears on screen find on that pause is enable trying to resume from that

It is not possible to connect this printer wirelessly because it only has an USB connection to a computer unless you attach this printer to a print server and then to a wireless router.
Alternatively you can set up this printer as a Shared printer on a computer on your 10baseT LAN network. Other computers on your network can then printer to this printer provided the computer with the printer is switched on (booted up).

Go into the router configure to view the wireless settings, it contains the SSID and encryption etc.
Open IE browser and enter the Netgear URL configuration IP address (http://192.168.0.1)

For a run of the mill printer to work as a network printer it needs to be attached to a computer which is on your network and the printer needs to be setup as a shared printer. install new oparating system and attach data cable in your pc then show a new hardware .
This printer is auto plug &play not driver requarments.If you are not success then change data cable with new one.

I would connect the printer to the main computer, network the 2 computers and enable printer sharing. The only draw back to this is that the main computer will have to be on in order for the other to print. Vista makes this easy to do.

There is no mirror or switch to turn such off, in these or any printer on the market. Reverse printing if enabled is done via software (print driver) on your computer

A 5 port switch (Hub) and network cables are about the simplest.
If the printer doesn't have a network port, you can add a small print server.
The print server is a little device the connect to the parallel port on the printer.
You then connect it to one of the ports on the switch (Hub)

Another way to share a printer is to connect the printer to one of the computers, and then share it. This is considering that you have the 2 computers networked together.
The drawback with this setup vs the first one, is that the computer that has the printer attached, must be on for the other computer to be able to print to it. The first setup, you only need to have the printer on, for either computer to be able to print to it.

On your computer have you enable the option on the printer settings. You may need to install this option to your PC.

On windows XP - click start then choose printers and faxes. Right click on the printer name that you need and click properties. Under here you may find an advanced tab, or installable options tab, make sure the duplexer (or enable double sided printing) is enabled.
