Question about Polaroid FLM-2601 Television

1 Answer

Toshiba 50hp82 plasma

Power turns off and on tree or four times for about 2 seconds each time.
I took it apart and checked fuses, Inspected CAPs and didn't see any blown ones. I'm currently going through and checking for cold solder joints and touching up any questionable ones. If you know of any common problems with this model or can assist in any way I would greatly appreciate it I got the thing cheap and am hoping I can fix it and use it as a monitor for my computer.

Mine does the same thing. Took it to a repair shop and they said I needed two motherboards made by NEC for $800 each.

I don't believe them, but am between a rock and a hard place. I'm considering selling/donating the unit for parts, if that is even an option.

Did you find your problem?

Prior to my unit doing what you describe, it would show a clear pic for about 2 hours, then the pic would go very dim. Turning the unit on/off would correct the problem, but 5 mn. later, the screen would go dim again.

I would check the capicitors on the power supply to see if the they are bulging at the top or leaking. I had a Samsung lcd that starting taking and hour to turn on then eventually it would not turn on. So I checked the power supply and saw four bulging capacitors that I replaced and now it's working like new.

Reset the tV to its factory settings. Refer its user manual for more details. Unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and replug it after some time, say after 5 minutes or so.

Samsung sp-r4232 power button blinks 4 times but tv wont turn on

I have this TV. My father in law tried to turn it on one day and it started making a clicking sound and never came on. So he went out and bought a new tv and gave it to me. It came on when I brought it home and worked for a couple weeks. Then just the other day it stopped working. When you hit the power button the light around it blinks four times and then you here a clicking sound. TV does not come on. Took the back panel off and I don't see any damaged caps or fuses. b435b80e-6d09-419f-a021-9b8a430e0a74.jpg

when a television turns off by itself and flashes as you say, it indicates that there is a problem inside the tv. If you keep trying to turn it on you may do more damage. It could be something as simple as a faulty fuse inside. If you have no expierience with electrics I suggest you get it checked out by a professional. I had a similar problem with another tele model and it was the fuse in the back of the tele that needed changing. I did try to this on my own but unfortunatley didn't have the right fuse so i took it to a repair shop and he done it really quickly.

Will not turn on, only blinking green light

Ok, your on the right track... Check the main fet or fets that is located right by the caps. Normally if the fet is short, it will pop the fuse, but if your caps poped instead, it could have prevented this. With the set unplugged, you can take a meter set to ohms (lowest setting possible) and if you read a value across any of the 3 pins on the fet (short), then it shot.. If that checks out ok, then take a peek at all the other smaller caps that are on the hot side of the board (the bottom of the board will be labled hot and cold. If one of these was out, it would prevent any of the other voltages from being present. The 5v is a standard test signal, it will normally notify the rest of board to power up when there is a draw on it (kind of like a computer power supply). But I highly recommend replacing all the caps on the hot side of the board and it should fix your problems.
