You have activated the anti-theft mechanism and it's deliberately awkward to defeat or it wouldn't be much use.

First, check all of the documentation which came with the head unit or with the car when you bought it; the security code is often written down or printed somewhere. Also check in the glove boxes as owners sometimes write the code inside them.

If this fails and the head unit was a factory fit item, then visit your car manufacturer's nearest main dealer with proof of vehicle ownership, proof of ID and the vehicle's VIN number ("chassis" number). The dealer can then look up the code; they may charge you for it but most supply them free if you're a regular customer for sales, parts or servicing.

If the unit is not a factory fit item then you can either contact Clarion or one of the many online code providers. Clarion want proof of purchase, independent suppliers just want your money. In either case, you'll need to remove the head unit in order to write down the serial number which will be necessary to look up the code number. Some will just take your money and fail to provide what you need, so exercise caution and only deal with proven trustworthy traders.

Good luck and I hope that you will kindly take a moment to rate my answer.

Clarion NZ502E audio problems

The issue has to be with either the head unit or the external amp that is being fed. Reverse the feed to the amp from the Clarion. If the audio issue now shifts to the other side the problem is with the Clarion. If the issue stays the same then the problem is with the amplifier.

my unit ended up doing the same thing. I bought it from a seller on ebay (lessco electronics I believe it was) and it stopped working while under warranty. Whenever I tried to contact the seller he ignored my calls.

To this date I still have not gotten the unit to work again. Very disappointed with the head unit and the seller. I will never buy from him again. AVOID HIM!!!

My clarion CD player in my Nissan Primera P12 2004 will not eject the discs can this be rectified and would it be expensive.

Hi.

Check first that it is not a single disk stuck inside.

Try pressing repeatedly the eject button on the on dash player while at the same time you start the stereo.

If that does not work you can try disconnecting the car battery to reset the unit, and then attempt again the procedure above.

Remember that you may be asked stereo code after disconnecting battery, have it ready.

If still no luck, then the unit must be removed from the dash to be taken apart, so to remove the stuck disk.

In that case the repair may require replacement of CD drive unit or front panel. When disk does not exject repair done from a local technician may be expensive. Usually better replacing the whole stereo unit.

Regards.

PS: Here the procedure above illustrated in detail. The procedure is described for home DVD players, but it is the same on any optical unit, including in-dash stereo. Naturally , since the unit is an in-car system, you do not have power cord, but you will need to disconnect battery to reset the system: player system won't eject disk.

INTERMITTENT POWER PROBLEMS

Sounds like you have intermittent contact between the constant 12v and the ACC 12v power inputs. Remove the head unit, and make sure that the connections are properly insulated. (using inline **** connectors preferably)

Red L.E.D light won't stop flashing

Shaving head check indication After two years of use the red shaving unit symbol î will flash for 30 seconds during 7 shaves to indicate that you should check the condition of the shaving heads. This indication is based on an average shaving time of 3 minutes per shave. When the shaving head symbol flashes, all other symbols and lights are out. When the shaver is switched off, the shaving unit symbol disappears. When the red shaving unit symbol starts flashing, you should check the shaving heads for possible damage. If the shaving heads are damaged in any way, they must be replaced in order to obtain optimal shaving results

Clarion SIRIUS Radio Receiver - Not Receiving All Subscribed Channels

My DX445 does the same thing. Here's my method for fixing it, it should work for any similar Clarion receiver:

1. If possible, make sure the radio is turned off when disconnecting the battery. If the radio turns itself on when the vehicle is restarted (for example after jump starting or battery disconnect for a few seconds only), turn the radio off.

2. Disconnect the battery by removing the negative battery cable from the battery. Leave it disconnected.

NOTE: Car batteries can be dangerous things. If you're unsure how to do this safely, get an experiences mechanic to help you.

3. Reset the radio. On my radio this is done by removing the faceplated, and pressing a tiny button for 30 seconds. Your radio may be different.

4. After waiting at least 20 minutes, reconnect the battery.

5. My radio displayes 'System Check -- Press Power'. After pressing the power button, the display reverts to the clock.

6. Turn on the radio. It should work fine on the broadcast bands.

7. Select 'Sirius'. The radio should display 'Updating'. Don't touch anything until the radio finishes its update phase. When it's done, it should tune to Sirius channel 1 and play as normal.

8. This should restore normal tuning. reset your presets and preferences.

What seems to happen is that the radio gets stuck in a 'Category Select' condition, but not all the categories will load, and manual tuning will not allow, say, Radio Classics to play when the radio is stuck in Pop mode.

On occasion (maybe 1 time out of 10), the radio hangs while doing the 'updating' in Sirius mode. If this happens, just shut off the radio and start over. I've never had to do the brute force reset more than twice since I stumbled on this method.
