How to eject a cd in a dell XPS m1330 when the hardis has crashed and the disk inside isn't a operatindg system disc

Straighten a paper clip and insert it into a tiny hole below the CD drive tray. Push the paper clip gently into this hole and the CD tray will pop out slightly. Pull the tray out to the fully opened position so you can remove the disc.

I have a dell xps M1330. My 4 year old daughter somehow managed to get 2 cds inside the cd drive and now I can't get out. Need help! Thanks.

On the front face place of your CD player, next to the button you use to eject/open the CD caddy, you should see a very small hole. Using a paperclip, insert the paperclip and gently press in the paperclip. It should release the caddy.

My dell laptops xps m1330 dvd player is not working

Verify that you have the last firmware (A14) on the Dell Support web site. Then check the CSS status of the DVD (should be unlocked) with this utility

http://www.digital-digest.com/software/download.php?sid=2&ssid=0&did=1

and finally verify that the DVDs are actually readable, and that the DVD reader works (try reading / burning a data CD-ROM or data DVD).

Check also that the video player software is set to the correct region and there are no errors in the Event Viewer (Hit Start, choose Run, type EVENTVWR.MSC and Enter). DVD events should be either under System or Applications.

I've a DELLXPS M1530. I'm trying to eject a CD, wont come out

I do believe that there is still a small hole by that slot, that you can insert a straightened paper Clip into, and keep pushing until you feel/hear a slight, click, keep pushing gently and the disk should soon appear. IF you cannot do that the DVD will be removable by taking out the fasteners underneath the laptop,, and sliding the DVD out. for repair of replacement.

Dell xps m1330 dvd drive will not eject cd inside

Im a dell tech, and i hate those cdrom styles, but, that is what the consumer wants, so we make them. Try starting the machine, then press F2 to enter the BIOS. once in the bios, press the eject button. listen for any noises, (an attempt to eject). if you hear a sound, it means the drive should be capable of ejecting the disc, and perhaps the disc has not seated correctly. If the disc will not eject, you must contact Dell. This is from the DELL dcse site: " Optical Drive The XPS M1330 has a slot-loading optical drive instead of a conventional tray-loading module. There is no mechanical eject mechanism for the drive to eject stuck discs. This means you must replace the drive if a disc gets stuck in the drive. After replacing the drive, disassemble the old drive to remove the disc for the customer."

Not ejecting the Mini CD

While the most popular option is to take it to a shop, it is possible, if you want to avoid any monetary charges, try using this site; http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1050337&tstart=0
While meant for Mac users, the commonality of the slot loading drive lets you get some good info from it.
However, if you don't mind, take it to a shop, to avoid possibly damaging components/endangering the warranty.

Just an important note, while most of them don't say so, the slot loading drives will only work with full sized disks due to its design.
