You need a boot-able disk with the operation system ..and you need to go to Bios and change the boot priority to boot from Cd first (first boot device ) ..than insert the cd ..and restart ..when it shows "press any key to boot from cd " just press a key ..than will start to load files until they are all initial files loaded..and will restart and pretty much will show you all you have to do ..
Pay attention when you make the partitions if you want more than one ..
here are some instructions for XP...
http://www.buildeasypc.com/sw/windows_xp.htm
some steps like installing the 3rd party driver are only needed for raid drivers on sata ..
the rest are pretty clear there ..
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/313348
here are some info about how to partition-ate the hard disk for the first time ..or even if it contains information ..

Here is about how to install vista ..
and for windows 7 the procedure is almost the same ..

If you are installing Windows, you need the Windows installation CD and the product installation code.
Boot up the Toshiba with this installation CD in the DVD/CD drive and follow the on screen instructions.
After Windows is installed you need to install the Toshiba's devices.
You may need to download these Toshiba drivers using another computer.
These instructions are just the basic details.
If you need further instructions, please get back to me and tell me at what stage you are having troubles.

If the OS installed is newer than your discs, it is probably trying to protect itself. Windows does this sort of thing.

Toshiba satellite pro c650,Built in web cam working satisfactorily till yesterday. now giving message 'unable to find pc camera'. kindly help.

A couple of things to try.
1) Go into your BIOS and ensure that the webcam isn't somehow turned off in the BIOS. 2) Go into Device Manager in Windows, find the webcam. Right click on it and remove it. Then reboot the computer and let Windows find it, and reinstall the drivers again.
3) You may also want to reinstall the Toshiba specific drivers and software which likely includes drivers for the webcam. You may have a CD that came with the laptop, otherwise you can go to

and reinstall the webcam application for your laptop.
Hope this helps!!

Having had my sons laptop crash with the message bootmng missing he installed windows vista for a medion laptop on his toshiba C650 laptop but now i have read that we could have it with original software...

if you have the windows vista dvd then put it in, boot from it but when it comes to install step , check for the REPAIR SYSTEM option at the bottom,
select that option and choose -> startup repair.
follow onscreen steps and wait for system reboot.
if everything goes fine it will start but if this doesn't work then you'll be needed to reinstall the whole OS..

How do I replace the keyboard?

next to the F1 key and the windows key (2nd upper key and second to last key) are two screws, usually under some covering. unscrew and lift top edge of the keyboard towards the trackpad to lay face down. Undo the wire ribbon by lifting the grey or brown tabs and remove ribbon and keyboard. Then install the new keyboard by inserting the ribbon on the place. Lock down with the tabs and put the plastic prongs (close to the space bar) into the laptop body first, and then close keyboard onto the final position. screw back in and thats all. nboulikas@gmail.com for any additional questions.
