Hello Paul, hi, to change the resolution, simply right click the desktop wall paper, properties settings then screen resolution you want. Hope this is what your are looking for. If this is not it, you may need the VGA driver CD. this CD will install the CORRECT resolution of your monitor.

15" Dell monitor is blank-connected

there can be many issues why there is no screen on this other computer.

1. video card failure
2. No system boot "bios issues"
3. Cables not connected correctly
4. Bent pins

First you want to do some trouble shooting. If this monitor works with a computer and not working with another then obviously there are some issue with the computer itself.

Have you check the resolution that Windows is putting out?

Try booting in SAFE mode this will set the computer's resolutions to the lowest so you can see a image. Most monitors in this caliber cannot handle certain high resolution signals.

We are here to help please update us with any more information you may have such as:

Are you see-ing any boot up screens?
Do you hear the system actually boot?

Thanks for using Fixya.com I do hope this was very helpful information for you.

Need to get screen size to show all . cant see

Things to check: Are your display settings set to "native resolution" of your screen. The native resolution is the actual dimensions (in pixels) of your flat-panel screen.
Looks like the Dell E153FP 15" has a native resolution of 1024x768. In windows, go to your control panel, in display settings, and ensure the resolution is set to 1024x768.
If that does not work, you can try the "auto adjust" feature on the monitor. On many Dell monitors, you can get this by pressing and holding the + button (on the monitor). You'll see the words "auto-adjust" appear on the screen if this works. If that doesn't work, you may be able to find auto adjust by navigating the menues in your monitor's menu, which you can get to by pressing the "menu" button on your monitor (sometimes this looks like a little rectangle icon). If it's an alignment problem, this should fix it right away.
If neither of the above work, it's probably your video card. Make sure your video card drivers are the correct ones for your card and OS, and up to date. You can also mess with display options under Control Panel > Display, under the "settings" tab, and at the bottom click the "Advanced" button, and it will bring up the advanced settings for your videocard.
Good luck!

How do u connect a ei53fp monitor to a 1336 by 768 reolution laptop

Attaching a second monitor to a Laptop, if its fairly new, will automatically load a second display. Right click the background on your LAPTOP screen and select properties after you attach the monitor cable. Go to settings. You should see two monitors. If not, you need to press Fn+ F6 on most Laptops to activate the second monitor. See your owner's manual on function key (Fn) Choose the second monitor screen and set the desired resolution.

Dell E153FP monitor won't display any video from system (Dell GX260). My e173FP monitor works fine. E153FP powers up, runs Self Test Feature Test fine, menus all seem OK. Tried Factory Reset... still no...

You probably have tried this, but make sure monitor is set to correct display... i.e., Analog or Digital

Also, try starting in safe mode and verify Monitor is able to handle the display settings resolution

I'm trying to hook up the e153fp to a dell latitude lap top. What are the settings that I should use for this configuration? the e153fp doesn't like the display settings.

By going to Dell.com I was able to pull up the user guide for the E153FP and read the specs to determine that the monitor has a screen resolution of 1024x768. The previous monitor had a higher resolution and this is why the E153FP would not display correctly.
Thanks for your response to my posting.
