No audio after 40 mins

I have a insignia, model ns-lcd32. i have had it for about 7 months, a couple days ago i was watching tv and then there was no sound, i have tryed all the inputs, and the tv has a jack for an extrnal speaker so i pluged my computer speakers in the audio jack and still there was no sound, so i desided to unplug it and left it there for the rest of the day, and when i pluged it back in and turned it on there was sound but the sound only lasted for about 40 mins, i have tryed unpluging it agian and letting it still and then trun it back on but the sound just lasts for 40 mins is there any way for fixing this?

Out of the blue the sound on the TV just went out and started making a very strange noise.

Our sound has gone out and we were told by our tech that it was an audio amplifier. it weighs about 1/4 lb. but we can't seem to get the part anywhere. Best Buy won't sell us the part.

I too have the same problem. Just last week, static was the only sound it would make for about 5 min, then dead silent. I've tried changing the audio settings & it worked the first 2 days. But then it got to the point where even the changes didn't work. So then I would let the tv set on with the static blaring til the static stopped after 15 min. That worked for only 1 day. So now it's a week later & the sound is just pure static & the tv is only a year old. Unfortunately, we didn't get the warranty at Best Buy. So what should we do, can they still fix it? It sounds like a manufacturer defect.

If the LCD is less then a year old, still can be repair under manufacturers warranty.
I would suggest to contact the vendor or manufacturers to get it fix under warranty.
If you need parts for the LCD or have then repair, you can write to

The TV is set in wrong audio mode, probably SAP, go to menu and then adio and set it for standard audio mode or stereo. then it shoiuld work fine. If that don't work then unplug the set from the wall for 40 Min. and it will rest back to normal.

It's likely that the TV will require service. You may take the TV to the retailer of purchase to arrange for repairs.

No audio after 40 mins

it sounds like you have a bad soder point or points on your power board. try this- unplug the unit. take off the back plate and in front of you you will see the power board there 4 screws ake them off and disconect the other wires on top also lable them if they look the same remove the power board and flip it over you should see many soder points see if anything is blck or cracked also look on the other side to check and see if there is any capacitors that are buldging or blown if so you need to replace them if not then get a hair dryer and put on high and hot and blow on the soder points for about 5 mins or untill its very hot.then replace and test to see if that fixed it for ya.

Make sure the RCA cable is going from an audio OUT on TV or DirecTV box to a red/white (non-digital) audio IN on surround sound or home theater system.
