Question about Creative Labs ZEN Vision:M Digital Media Player

1 Answer

I just charged my Vision M after not using for the last 2 months, the screen vertical hold just keeps rolling. I tried the reset, but still the same, bottom half of the screen is light gray but you can still see the song name, the top half is the normal blue but keeps rolling like the vertical hold on old TV's. It still plays music but the video player is useless with this issue, do have any suggestions?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I cant stop the tv monitor screen from jumping it has something with the dvr

Hello What type of TV do you have, analog or digital? If you have an analog TV and the screen is rolling it is the vertical hold. Because the vertical hold operate on 60 cycle which the same as AC line cycle. The 60 cycle in the vertical hold is as a oscillator or timing circuit. When the TV pick up the image for the NV devise, they just don't mix. Why, because image intensifier tube in the NV devise is operation at 25 to 50K Hz or cycles. The vertical hold circuit pick up on the 50K Hz signal which mixes with 60 cycle timing circuit causing the screen to rolling with lines across the screen @ 60 cycles. Digital camera and digital camcorder with digital TV will help, or a image inverter that takes this 50k Hz signal and covert it to some that analog TVs can use. GB...stewbison

Our Super Gaucho 24volts is 2-years-old and barely used. Now the battery is not lasting to long. Is this normal? I mean, with a more frequent charging/use will its performance be improved? Thx ahead &...

Unfortunately the batteries just lose their holding power after awhile, and if you don't keep them charged every few months (like during winter if your child isn't riding, you still need to charge / refresh the battery every 2 months or so, if it isn't charged for a few months, it'll lose some of it's holding power), that's a very common problem. Our 24V Perego batteries for our Gaucho only seem to last like 30 minutes of constant riding (my son rides non stop sometimes for 30+ minutes). If you check out the site modifiedpowerwheels.com , people convert them to use non Perego batteries that run for much longer!

Have a zen creative vision M and it will not charge. The blue light goes on with AC connection. Left on for 1 day and it will not start up. Is this a motherboard or battery problem.

I don't know if this will help but I just got mine to work. mine sat for months. It would not take a charge after I tried every thing on the message boards I while plugged into the USB (an after market one cause I lost the original) held the power button and pushed the reset button and a reboot, reformat and repair screen came up, I tried those but the reformat and then saw up top that it will charge on that screen so I left it alone for 2 hours and then reboot now perfect.
To think how many message boards say to take apart to jump or replace batteries.
Hope this helps.

My zen freezes regularly and needs rebooting

It's from the firmware, I've had the same problem and I've gotten the white screen of death. Any suggestions? The power light turns blue but the screen is either black or white, it won't turn off unless I click the reset and then won't turn on until 10+ tries of doing the hold down power button, click reset while plugged in PC thing.

WHAT CAUSES A COMPUTER SCREEN TO KEEP ROLLING

sounds like either the monitor or internal video card is dying, the rolling would be the equivalent of vertical hold button on a old crt tv

Creative vision M 30 gig not working.

In Australia is 220v the standard? This player might be a 5V, US-market version. Transformer would be required.

If the voltage checks out, however, I would try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

This may be a vertical hold control problem I'm not sure where the Vert. Hold potentiometer is on the mainboard. I would see if you can find someone who can locate it and adjust it.
