Have a magic chef dryer will run for about 20 mins the shut down if you push the start timer it will just buzz at you and do nothing for about an hour then it will start again

It may be that the motor is overheating, then the overload protector shuts it off. It will not operate until the motor cools down. Then it will work again until it overheats again, repeating the process over and over again. Eventually it will burn out the motor and the it will never work again. It needs a new motor now.

Dryer will heat but seems to overheat and shut off.

If that is the style with the small heater in back up top the blower wheel is probably slipping.

My Maytag Bravos XL electric dryer doesn't dry clothes. When I try to run a second cycle it seems like it's too hot and won't start again until it cools.

Make sure your vent pipe is clean and filter is clean. Air flow is number one reason for dryer failure, Check the whole inside of the dryer for lint build up and in the exhaust pipe. The dryer has to vent the humid air in order to dry the clothing. If it can't do that, it overheats and also the humidity stays inside the dryer.

My Kenmore Dryer, Mdl #86681800 won't start when hot

The most likely reason it that the electric motor is failing; the thermal protector on the motor is resetting after the motor cools down. The buzzing is due to a locked rotor in the motor while it is overheated.

Another much less likely possibility is that there is excessive drag on the drum causing the motor to overheat because it is working too hard spinning the drum. Excess drag is due to worn rollers, etc.

Try rotating the drum in the CORRECT direction by hand and see if it seems really hard to rotate. You can try this on a friend or relatives machine to see how much drag is normal.

To determine which way is the correct rotation, just start the dryer, open the door and look fast! To test, just turn it in the same direction as it was rotating before it stopped.

The windings in the motor are bad and the motor will need to be replaced. Here is the motor to order.

The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.

My drier makes a squeeking noise and overheats after about 10 minutes. What is wrong and how do I fix this?

You have a partial or full clog in the exhaust. Pull the machine from the wall and disconnect the hose ... start cleaning with a shop vac ... go both ways. If your hose is plastic, replace it with flexible metal. Dont forget to clean the outside vent.

The squeek is probably the front 'bearing' which is usually felt and rides on a ring around the door. Best fix is replace it, next best is clean it ... the fix i use it I turn the radio up until the noise goes away.

Kenmore Dryer 90 Series will start but suddenly stop...

Hello , Sounds like your motor is over heating , it will run until the sensor shuts it down from getting to hot , it is most likley because the motor is covered in lint and needs cleaned. Hope that helps.

After a few heating cycles the burner does not ignite

The problem you are describing is usually associated with a bad gas valve coil. The dryer runs normally until it gets hot, then starts making a strange clicking noise. After it cools down, the dryer runs normally again. The gas valve coils (there are two of them) usually run about $20 a piece. I recommend replacing both of them at the same time just to be sure. I hope this helps.
