Please download "Cleaner", install and run the Cleaner and Registry tools of the program. Then hold down the Windows Logo key at bottom left of keyboard and press R. A run command widow will appear. Type in %temp% and hit Enter. Delete every temp file Windows will allow. Close the window and restart your computer.

If the drop-down still misbehaves, got to Toshiba Support and choose Drivers and Downloads. Install all the "Toshiba Added Value" downloads for your model and operating system.

What is fn button

"fn" is short for Function. It depends on the manufacture WHAT they will allow you to access vea the Function Button.. Most often there are color coded keys that you hold the fn down to get the additional functionalitys out of those keys. Many manufactures use fn keys for multimedia or screen settings, WiFi radio ON/OFF controls, etc.

What do the f keys mean

On each keyboard there are additional sets of keys delineated as "Function" Keys. These keys are used for additional programmed functions, such as "F8" or "Function 8" which will allow a Windows user to access a boot menu when Windows first starts up. On a regular 102 key keyboard, such as those on a desktop computer, the function keys are located at the top of the keyboard with the letter "F" preceding the number of the key. On a laptop, generally the function keys are accessed by holding down a blue "Fn" down at the bottom of the keyboard and the specific number on the numeric portion of the keyboard. So in the above example of "F8" the combination of holding down "Fn + 8" would accomplish the same action.

I hope this help and if you require additional assistance, please do not hesitate to ask.

How to increase brightness of toshiba satelite m30 laptop

You should be able to adjust the brightness by holding down the function key (Fn) and then press the button that has a picture of the sun and a plus + button by the side of it. You can also adjust the brightness on a more permanent basis by looking at the power settings within the operating systems control panel.

Dell in inspiron 1545 wireless adaptor not turning on

Without knowing your exactyour Operating System, I cannot point you, directly, to your download. I can, however, bring you to the Inspiron 1545 Update Download page. Which is actually a better choice, as it contains all updates and upgrades and firmware for every device in your model:

First: be sure your physical On/Off switch is on. That will either be located on the left, front or right edge of your computer.

Dell also uses the Fn+F2 combination, on some models (without a physical switch).

If you have a Radio Tower Logo on your F2 key; hold down your function key and tap the F2 key (the same Radio image you see on your Fn Key - left of space bar). If it has a circle with a strike through it (Like a no smoking sign) that means your Wireless Radio is OFF.

To turn it ON simply hold down your Fn Key, again, and Tab the F2 key again until you only see the Radio Tower Image, without the Circle Strike Through Image; that means it is On...

**NOTE: Be Certain to minimize ALL windows to see the image when pressing Fn+F2:

1. Select <Operating System> from the drop-down menu on this page
2. Scroll to <Network>
3. Click the + Sign Left of network
4. Choose <Wireless Network Adapter>
5. Select Download Using Browser (if you only wish to do 1 upate).

Thank You For Choosing FixYa~!

Need to find list/definitions of "function Keys"

Please open this LINK, scroll down to page no. 2-5 i.e. the section with "To use the Function Hot Keys Fn". There you'll find the details about the functional function keys of your compaq. It seems your function key i.e. Fn key is activated, to deactivate, press and hold down the Fn key while you tap the Numlock key once.

Let me know if you need further help.
Good Luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.

I have new ProBook 4720s and the touch pad is locked? How do I unlock it?

You will have a push button just above the touch pad, if you push that button it will activate the touch pad...
Alternatively you will have the touch pad symbol printed on one of the function keys (f1 to f12), if you presss the "fn" and corresponding function key it will activate the touch pad...

I dropped my lap top and now my view is horizontal instead of vertical. how do I fix the view?

Wow thats strange? check to see if there is a Function key ( Fn on Fun ) and look at the F keys at the top of the key board. One may have come on when dropped. Hold down Fn key then push the F key. Hope this helps.
