Ligher

Did you make sure there is a wire going to the back of the lighter receptacle? Just stick a light probe in the middle of the lighter well, and see if it lights up. There is supposed to be battery voltage in the middle of the hole. Sometimes the those lighter elements, the part that you use to start your cigar, burn out. Those replacements are about $4.

I need a wiring diagram for my 2003 saturn l200

if there is power in the wires, then the lighter units are bad and need changing. it could just be the lighters itself are bad !

I am trying to disconnect the alarm so it doesn't keep going off while I disconnect my battery to put in a new one. I also don't want it to lock me out of starting the car once the new battery is in.

best be is to keep a power supply to the car while replacing the battery, usually with a special socket in the cigarette ligher or power supply

Not getting power

Fuse in the power cord ok? Fuse in the vehicle's ligher socket ok? Does the lighter socket power other devices? Power switch is in the "ON" position?

Check these steps first.

The cigarette lighter on my 2001 ford escort zx2 does not work. It isn't a fuse and there is no power going to the leads that connect to the lighter. Can't figure this out. please help. John C.

FYI, the ligher only gets power when the key is on. If it doesn't have power even with the key on, then the leads probably came off the back of the lighter.
