It will be ideal to check this out before it is resetted as the error code can be checked out for a possible solution without the software reinstalled.

SOURCE: my samsung star gt-s5230 touch

Hello there,

If the touch screen of the phone is no longer working, then it means there is a problem with the phone.
This can be caused by a weak sensor board and the solution to that is for you to calibrate the screen of the phone. To calibrate the screen of the phone you will have to go to the phones menu and select the phone settings, then you select calibrate screen and follow the rest of the instruction from there on.

If the screen does not respond to touch at all, then it means the sensor board of the phone is bad and need to be replaced.

Hope this was helpful to you.

My gt-s5230 touch screen stop working. how can i reset it?

Hi, If your touch screen is not working, there's just 2 major causes of such, either a hardware cause which might be either the phone falling on a hard object or in water which could damage the sensor board and either the screen is malfunctioning and needs to be calibrated.
If you can access the menu of the phone, i will advice you calibrate the screen first before you send it to a repair shop. There is no updates to download for such problem as updating the firmware of the phone would do nothing but change the settings of the phone.
To calibrate the screen, you will have to go to the phones menu, go to settings, then you select the calibrate screen, it will show you some stars to touch and once you touch them properly, then your screen will be able to work effectively.
But if you cannot access the menu because of the touch, then i will advice you send it off for repairs, and what to repair on the phone is the sensor board.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks for using fixya....

Hi my samsung gt-S5230 touch keypad is not working

Remove battery and use a dryer to heat the display and phone , then reset and check if there is contact. If not remove the phone and reset to see if this make the contacts work well.
if not the touch pad can be faulty , the software can be faulty .
