Question about HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-In-One InkJet Printer

My printer is a HP officejet Pro 8500 wireless.\r\nIt is 7 months old message keeps saying "pump motor stalled." What should I do?

This could possibly be Hardware issue.


Follow these steps in the order presented to resolve the issue.
Step one: Perform a semifull reset

1. Press the Power button to turn off the HP product.
2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
3. Unplug the power cord from the back of the HP product.
4. Wait for 20 seconds.
5. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
6. Press and hold # and 6 while plugging the power cord back into the HP product.
7. Press the Power button ( ) to turn on the product.
8. Follow the instructions that display on the HP product to select the settings.

Step two:

1. On the product control panel display, touch the Setup icon, and then touch Tools .
2. Touch Clean Printhead .

If these steps resolved the issue , there is no need to continue troubleshooting.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, Call HP support since your printer is in warranty as you said its only 7 months you purchased the printer

I had this exact same problem and it was a hardware issue. HP walked me through the troubleshooting steaps as listed by "Rider On Way" to no avail. They finally issued me an RMA number and replaced the defective unit. My error occured the first time I powered up the printer.

    I did the same thing. They are replacing the unit. Hopefully it will not happen with the new unit.

Return the machine as it's DOA (Dead on Arrival)/ out of box Failure. Best thing you can do or else you will end up with a lemon, and a loss of money.

HP officejet pro 8500 wireless when i scan,the message says: there is no computer connection - what to do. It does print without problem

The thing says I have a paper jam and I do not. I accounted for every scrap. Even did as one poster suggested and gently turned it upside down and shook it -- very gently. This is really aggravating.

Error Message: Pump Motor Stalled. Please advise

Try partial reset and semi full reset of the printer, this is error message is a hardware error, if the issue is still not resolved contact HP, they would replace the printer if it is under warranty.

My hp officejet 8500 printer sends a message that the pump motor stalled and continuesshow after ok is pressed.

This message occurs if there is a hardware issue with the ink system of the unit. Please contact the HP phone support or fill in a web form and the unit will be replaced.
