No difference - ok so it is a wireless modem/router.
But i need to know the distance between them both? 1 room 2 rooms?
Quick read on Telus - tells me its a US ISP yes?
What brand modem is it - 2WIRE? Thompson? For your sake i hope not a Speedstream?

Bsnl internet is very slow in dlink dwm 156

So, If you have internet connection speed problem with your wireless try with the following steps,
1.) Reset the wireless router by using the power switch on it or by unplugging it and plugging it back in.
2.)Place the wireless router in an ideal location. The higher it is, the better, but don't put it near metal objects.
3.)Get as close as possible to the router with whatever device you're trying to connect.
4.)Keep the router and your connecting device away from other electronics. You should especially keep away from phones, fax machines and microwaves. etc.,
5.)Adjust the Wifi antenna if it has one.
6.)Change the router's channel, especially if other wireless routers are nearby.
Following these steps would give you stable internet connection and also increased speed in connection. You can check your internet speed from www.ScanMySpeed.com before and after following these steps.

My netgear usb connects to my wireless belkin..but no internet ?

this message comes when your computer is not getting the IP address from the router.
There are possible reasons for that.
1. DHCP on the router may be disabled.
2. If your network is secured , then you might not be typing the correct network key.

In both the cases , you will need to check the settings of the router.
You will need to access the router set up.

Dlink dwa 130 wont stay connected

I had a very similar problem with my Netgear, I assume your Netgear is 802.11n standard router and your wifi card is probably integrated which means it only supports b and g standard. The only solution is either to buy a 802.11n compatible wifi card or to kick the speed of the rounter down to b & g compatible more.

Low connection speed

I understand that you are getting low wireless speed through the adapter. I would suggest you to upgrade the drivers for the adapter. If the issue persists, then please change the channel on the wireless router.

Hope this helps.

Very slow and intermittent wireless internet connection

I seem to have solved the problem by downloading the driver from Asus directly.

I pulled out my Asus card, looked up the card model and downloaded the correct driver. Looks like the windows update or the Dell update must have caused the driver to get whacked. Hope this fixes your issue as well.

Keep getting kicked off

usually the problem like this was cause by unupdated firmware of either you wireless card or router. check the manufacturer of both devices and check the website if there is any updated firmware of both. you will also find instructions on how to upgrade the firmware on the manufacturer website.
