Question about Zodiac Baracuda G4 Automatic Pool Cleaner Ne221

1 Answer

Our Zodiak G4 pool cleaner is not pulsating. We followed the owner's manual to clean the unit. We checked to ensure that our pool, filter, etc were working properly and were clean. We used the pool pulse to ensure the right amount of water volume was flowing to the hose.We have a dedicated vacuum line and the attached hose has great suction until it is connected to the zodiak. Is there anything else we can do to get the zodiak pulsating? Thanks

If the cleaner is not pulsating then either you don't have enough suction or the diaphragm is bad or clogged. (if you have WAY WAY too much suction the diaphragm can stuck collapsed, or a hose can crimp. this will also cause it to stop pulsating.) It is very common to have a **** or tear next to or just below the plastic retaining ring that holds the diaphragm on the inner cassette tube. Also check and make sure there are no holes or breaks on the hoses. When you check the suction with the pool pulse, make sure suction not too high or too low. If the suction is too high it will usually pulse very very rapidly, but sometimes the diaphragm can get stuck as mentioned above. If you have proper suction, and the diaphragm is fine then it will pulse. the only other possible problem is the the cassette assembly could be damaged, or cracked. Hope this helps. Is it getting enough suction? What type and size of pump is on the pool? If you have Intex or similar those are not strong enough to run a cleaner. Check your filter to make sure it is not clogged. The flow of water through the unit is what holds it to the floor.

My G4 unit keeps coming apart in the pool

What particular parts of the cleaner are coming apart? If your flapper is coming off, you will probably need to replace it. I would need to a more specific description to accurately help. I can give you a copy of the users manual for these pool cleaners. You might be able to find a solution there. Hope this helps.

Zodiak G4 Get stuck in corners steps ect.

Check a couple things when these pool cleaners are getting stuck on steps and in corners. Is the correct length of hose being used? It might be necessary to shorten. Make sure that the ideal flow is being achieved. Add hose weights 3 feet from the cleaner head. You might need to also install a wheel guard (part # W83278). This wheel delfector will also work if the cleaners are hanging on the ladder.

My barracuda is not moving and i fell is not pulsating eather why?

If your pool cleaner is moving slowly and not pulsating, there are a couple things that you will want to check and/or adjust. Make sure that the main drain is closed. It is a common problem with these pool cleaners not operating correctly if the drain is not closed. Use your flow gauge to make sure that there is adequate flow. Poor water flow through the cleaner can cause these problems. Backwash the filter and clean out any skimmer baskets. Clogs can cause loss of suction and prevent movement. Make sure that the diaphragm is not damaged. Check for hose leaks and air entering the line at all connections.

My g4 is not moving

Here are a few things that you can check on this pool cleaner to find out why it is not moving. Make sure that your pump basket and filter are clean and not clogged. Check the diaphragm for blockage or damage. Use your Pool Pulse to determine proper if you flow to the cleaner is low. Low flow will definitely cause the cleaner to slow. Also, check all of your hose sections and connections for air leaks.

Cleaner operates normally but simply pulsates in one spot without moving. Appears that it does not make proper contact with pool wall/floor surface.

First, use your pool cleaners pulse point feature to make sure that you have proper water flow. Check your baskets and filter for blockages that could restrict movement and make sure that your diaphragm is not damaged. You will also want to check your hose weights. When the cleaner is resting on the floor of the pool, it should be at a 45 degree angle. If it is not, adjust the hose weights so that it makes proper contact with the pool floor.

Use Pool Pulse to ensure proper flow. It could feel ok on your hand, but you need very precise pressure to power these pool cleaners. If you are not familiar with how to use the Pool Pulse feature, take a look at the users manual below. They have a step by step guide to this feature.

Hocked my g4 up to my filter but there is no movement in the g4

If your pool cleaner has no movement at all, check the following things. Your baskets and filter should be clear and free of debris. If there is something clogging either or they are full, the cleaner will not work properly. Check the diaphragm inside the cleaner and make sure that it is not work or damaged. They are easy to replace if that seems like the problem. Use the Pulse Point feature to make sure that your flow is adequate. If it is too high or too low. adjust it and test again. Finally, check for air entering your line. Check your connections to make sure that they are tight and have no visible cracks. Check your hose by lifting one section at a time out of the water and watching for cracks or breaks.

Make sure that there are no obstructions in the pump, filter, and flaps of the cleaner. Debris can restrict movement of this type of automatic pool cleaner. Also check for hose leaks and to make sure that your suction is correct.

My zodiak g3 just stopped moving. pulled filter still no good. shut off skimmer and only suction is thru zodiak.it is only about 14 mo old.

Probally a diaprahm in your head is probally bad this can be checked by your pool store for you. Fourteen months is a short life for this and too much suction will cause this or you may just have something stuck in the diaprahm. For this you can just look down the throught of the unit and reach in with a long sitck or the like and see if you can feel anything in there.
