Hi, IF you are looking for the sound card installed on your computer, it is usually integrated with the Motherboard. And if your trying to install a PCI card type of sound card, all you need to do is to plug it in and automatically the integrated sound card on the motherboard is turned off by default. Now after plugging it in and when you turn on your computer, a Found New Hardware balloon will appear on the task bar and it will ask you to install the drivers that came with the sound card that you got.
Thank you for using Fixya, your recommendation is highly appreciated for the free support.

Gateway one gz7108 will not power on when graphics card is in the graphics slot .but wil power when it out of the slot.

You may have to go into the system BIOS and change which is the primary video adapter. It may be looking at the onboard video as the default which is why you don't see anything when trying to use your addon video card.

Hope that helps.

Where is sound card located

Hello there,
The sound card is located at the back part of the motherboard. It is connected by a flexi ribbon. Then it sits on a tray spot on the back of the casing. It has the 3.5mm pin prongs port on it, with a mic port. That is the sound card.
Hope this was helpful to you. Goodluck Elect_Comp

Where is located the sound card for gateway 310 x h computer

Go to

The sound card is part of the motherboard - the three small jacks (pink, yellow (green?) and blue) just below the USB/network ports are for the sound card functions. Pink = Microphone, Yellow (Green) = audio out, Blue = audio in.

There is also an audio out in the front of the computer for headphone output.

Just a simple question

Open the desktop and wherever the monitor plugs into just follow that on the desktop. It will either be onboard video (on the motherboard) or a separate card.

Either way you can always change the video card.

You just need to make sure it's AGP 8x

That's what your board supports.

Best of luck!

Audio drivers

If you have on board sound, then the drivers are on the Gateway website under support and downloads. If they are from a third party sound card you will have to get them from the sound card distributors website.
