Question about Frigidaire Refrigerators
Your actuator is probably bad its a little solenoid that the ice bucket rod sticks in to at the back remove the ice bucket find the square that the actuator rod sticks into look in it if you see a bar about halfway down in the square see if you can take your finger and pull it down then hold in the door switch on the cabinet not the one that runs the freezer light and have some on actuate the ice disp to see if the bar goes up and down if not you will need to replace the solenoid also clean the bucket and check that the rod is moving the door in the bucket

SOURCE: ice despenser
your refrig has a solenoid that opens and closes a flapper in the bucket to bypass the ice crushers look on the bottom of the ice container and there is a brass rod that is bent at the end. if yo will find where the end of that rod inserts into the dispenser motor inside the freezer there is a saddle that has most likely frozen in the up position. you can use a hair dryer to warm the area up and pull the saddle back to the down position. its kind of hard to tell you with out pics but hopefully you get an idea of wht i'm trying to describe..

yea! I have been without cubes for 2 years. I slid out the tray, found the lever in the back where the rod went in, pulled it down, reinserted the ice tray, and IT WORKED! At first I thought I broke the lever, because I had to hold it down with a knife while I was inserting the tray, but it just must have been stuck. I am soooo happy!

your model # is incomplete but here it goes.
1.take your ice container out and run hot water thru it. you want to defrost all of the ice build up inside of it's housing.
2. make sure the long lever under the container moves up & down when you press on it.
3.w/the container removed, you will see a fork like object and next to it amn openning w/a small plastic square part inside. make sure that part moves freely up & down. that solenoid is what gives cubed ice.
let's start there first

I have a GE TFX25ppbaaa refrigerator. The ice maker corkscrew motor would run and provide crushed ice only. The corkscrew motor would not run when the switch was moved to the cubed ice ( half moon) setting.
I replaced the large Light/ water/ crushed ice/cubed ice switch , ( product service number GEH WR55X129 ) ( part number GE 162D6372 PO17 )and it fixed the problem. Cost was about $43.00.

You have a solenoid switch which switches the dispenser back and forth from crushed to cube. It could be stuck or not working or the parts connecting it could be disconnected or broken. You will have to observe to see if any parts are moving and if any noise is coming from the solenoid
