32bit is the standard for most of todays functions. 64 bit systems are more for corporate environments. You will have a lot of software incompatibilty issues running a 64 bit system. Why would you want to change it?

if you can go into safe mode with networking, get latest driver and make sure you download correct 32 or 64 bit version. 32 on 64 bit only partially works. if you can open up driver select the 64 bit version from update driver.

How do I reset my toshiba satellite l500 to manufacture setting

See the owner`s manual. Turn off the notebook. Wait a minute. Hold down the 0 (zero) key and push once the power button. A screen message will appear after a few seconds. Choose to reboot from HDD. (or you can choose to reboot with recovery disks using the DVD drive.) Follow the instructions. It will take about 2 hours to reinstall windows 7. And another 2 hours for initials and updating. If you have a 64-bit processor, you can choose the 64-bit or 32-bit version of windows 7, if you wish.

The first step in installing Adobe Flash is select operating system, then version, and I don't know what to specify for the Sylvania Netbook. Help?

if you go to

Highlight computer but dont open it
then right click it and go to properties
it should open a box showing you the system properties of your laptop
and about have way down it will tell you if you are running a 32-bit or a 64-bit system
then when you choose the adobe flash choose the one that is for your system 32 or 64

good luck

But if you are running a 64 bit system on windows 7 i dont think flash will work in 64-bit internet explorer

so you will have to go to start programes and internet explorer ( Not internet explorer 64 )

and use that one

good luck

Going from 64 bit to 32 bit on Windows 7

Ill make a big assumption here : On the bottom of your laptop there is a license key - That Key will tell you which kind of opertaing system you'll have on the hidden partition and it just might say 32bit or 64bit.

Nevertheless, disregard the top part here if it does not. Restart your Laptop, keep pressing ALT and F10 together continuously after the Acer Logo until it says somemething like "Windows is loading files". It should then give you onscreen instructions - and it might just also give you the option to choose which operating system type (32/64) you want.

On another model or also others, the Recovery DVD's that come with the laptop contain this option i know for sure. When pressing F12 on startup, (if the F12 boot menu is ENABLED under "advanced tab" in the BIOS) you can choose a device to boot up from ; Choose the DVD drive and boot from your recovery DVD - When it's done loading, you should be able to choose the operating system you would like to restore on your laptop.

Last but not least, if you have a Windows 7 Installation Disk, it will prompt you for choosing 32bit or 64 bit respectively. If you have lost the original recovery DVD's, you can request them from Acer.

this computer is shipped with windows xp 32 bit, can be upgraded to vista. As for 32 or 64 bit?, the only difference you will see between them is if you have more than 3 gig of ram installed a 64 bit O/S will see and use all the ram, where a 32 bit O/S is limitted to 3gig of memory it can address.
Personally, I believe you will have a lot easier time finding the 32bit drivers for your laptop and printer. 64bit drivers for older hardware are sometimes very difficult to find. GO with 32bit on this laptop.

Hi,could some body give me an opinion on whether I should Upgrade to a HP DV7 (has glass screen wxga HD) as apposed to the newly released (April) Acer 5738G (new Back lit screen technology)Both have same...

If it was me I would choose the HP. IMHO the only laptops to own are the HP and Toshiba's. Easier to get parts for after the warrenty expires. Plus it is a product from a top tier manuracturer.  The 64 bit Operating System will run applications faster than a 32 bit OS. The difference is a lot bigger if the application you are running is 64 bit also.
