It does have some amplification for the stereo out ..but if you want to attach a rear woofer in the trunk ..or something like that and get the output by the rci ..you need a separate amplifier for that aux exit ..

it has just the internal amplifier from the stereo ...if you refer to a separate amplifier it does not..but the stereo has some amplification on the stereo exit ...but I repeat ..on the auxiliary exit it does not..

Need more info, could be many reasons why you dont have audio, I've professionally installed car audio for 30 years, is it a factory stereo system or after market, do you have an amplifier. Need more info explaining your problem, year n model of auto, stereo, amps, speakers , was it installed by an expert, or a frien that claims to know. Could be anything from a blown fuse to pinched wires, (dead short), wired in corectly, insufficient ground, amp not triggered, and on n on and on

Where is the factory amp located ?

In the trunk up next to wheel wells. Start peeling carpet out of the trunk walls and you will find it. The rear speaker wires run right to it.

Please beware that only the 10 speaker systems have a factory amp. The stock 6 speaker systems run straight off of the factory radio. You can buy a factory amp bypass harness for this model at any good car audio shop.

I need to find out if my 97 ford expedition has a amp and a subwoofer factory and if so where is it located

Hello,

97 Ford Expedition's came with two types of systems. With and without the MACH audio system. This can be determined by looking to see if there is a factory sub located on the passanger side rear side panel in the cargo area. If there is a sub there its the MACH audio system and the amp is located behind the same panel.

I have power and everything to my head unit, but the sound isnt very loud, and everytime i switch radio stations, the speakers make a popping sound. Did i connnect something wrong?

Your system has a factory amp, you need a different harness or you need to bypass the amp. Knowing the make/model/year of the car would help.

What kind of wire do I need to install Infinity reference series 605cs with a JL Audio 10" sub and a Alpine Flex 2 amp? Can I use my factory head unit?

You can use the factory speaker wiring for the Infinity speakers you should purchase a amp kit which will give you everything to install the amp. See site below

Well that all depends on the current audio system you have now is it just a basic or a premium factory system with a factory amp. Honestly you would get a better and cleaner sound if you change the factory head unit to a after market one which has preamp feeds and the higher the preout volt the better. Just make sure it is compatible with the amp volts input (Example 4v to 250mv) If you use the factory headunit you would have to by a high to preout adapter it connects to the exsiting radios speaker leads, but like I said before change the head unit you won't be sorry. Do not forget if you change the radio you need a radio install kit and the wiring harrness which converts the two radio plugs so you don't cut them so down the road you can remove the after market radio and just replug the factory right back in.

I would suggest calling or find online Crutchfield. They have been car stereo experts for many years. They sell harnesses for just about any car allowing you to plug in your stereo directly to the existing harness. I guarantee they will know!

You need to buy an amp adapter. SCOSCHE OEA4 4-Channel Adjustable Factory Amplifier Int. 23 bucks on ebay. You most likely have a factory amp in your car and the head unit's speaker output wires are already amped. the factory amp can't understand the audio signal.

Intermittent problem no sound

Double and triple check your connections. I soldered my connections on a speaker a little while ago and I found out that it only looked soldered and it was alittle loose and would cut out. Also you could check a site out, installdr.com. You should be able to find out the wire colors for you speakers there. Although I don't think that, that will cause a big problem. If you are listening to music at loud volumes, I would also recomend an aftermarket amplifier. It adds so much more that a factory amp can. Just food for thought. Good luck.
