LG Model LHT754 stuck in demo mode

I don't know how we did it, but our LG model LHT754 DVD Player/Home Theater Receiver is stuck in Demo Mode. I've tried unplugging it for 15 minutes; holding the stop button on the remote for >5 seconds; cancelling; holding the power button for 10 seconds and various other front panel and remote control button combinations to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks... Dave Madaras - Wesley Chapel, FL

Thanks, but that didn't fix it. I also tried 'Clear', 'Power' and none worked (even after holding the buttons down for up to 15 seconds). The only thing that seems to affect the unit from the remote was the Display Button (Dim/Bright), Volume (+/-), and VSM (On or Off) and /XTS Pro (On/Off) -- but it goes right back into DEMO mode as soon as I release the button. -- Dave Madaras

Sony® stereo systems will enter the DEMO mode the first time you power on the system or if you do not operate the unit shortly after turning on the power to the system.
To disable the DEMO mode, while the stereo system is powered off, press the DISPLAY button repeatedly until the demonstration display disappears.

  • If applicable to your unit, setting the clock on your stereo system will also disable the DEMO mode.
  • Using the buttons on a supplied remote control will not disable the demonstration mode.
If model-specific information is needed to complete any of these steps, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the product. Manuals, Specifications and Warranty information for your Sony product is available online.

LG LHT754 stuck on dvd function and won't change input

Hold down "2" on the remote simultaneous to "stop" on the receiver. In a couple of seconds you will see something appear on the display. OPO-63? Anyway, repeat the process again when you see that. The system will reset. This will also take care of the inability to switch to AUX or Ipod.

If you've disconnected the speakers and the fault is still showing then the fault is internal with the Amplifier and it's shutting down to protect itself from further damage.

Your only solution is to remove the cover and have a look at repairing it yourself or take it to a repair shop.

LG LHT754 is frozen in aux mode. I tried holding down buttons and unplugging and nothing.

Unplug the unit for 60 minutes, when you plug it in hold the power button for 5-10 sec which will do a hard reset. This will reset the processor and hopefully the unit will operate normally.

If u are trying to change the input from dvd to usb or the other inputs. All you have to do is hold down the play button on the front of the dvd home theater system until it starts to flash then press it again and keep pressing until u find the input u are looking for. It will rotate thru all inputs even the ipod input.
