Why does my 99 Chevy Suburban keep blowing fuses & won't start

What fuse's ? Ignition , PCM , ? Won't start how ? explain - when you turn key to the start position does any happen ? if nothing happens this is referred to as a no crank - no start , now if the engine turns over but doesn't start , this is referred to as a crank - no start condition. So which does your vehicle have ?

My 1998 hitatci tv keeps blowing fuse whats wroung

The TV has two power supplies, low and high voltage. Most likely the high voltage transistor (called a Horizontal Output Transistor or HOT) is shorted due to a malfunctioning high voltage transformer (the biggest piece on the board with the large red wire coming from it. If the low voltage is bad most likely the diode pack (full wave rectifier) or the voltage regulator chip.
Remember fuses are to keep the unit from catching fire by opening up when a short circuit draws too much current. If you cannot replace the cause of the current draw, it's time to buy a new TV.

A small 2.5 amp fuse keeps blowing. It is located at the back of the unit just after the ac inlet

When a fuse blows suspect an overload in the power supply or power amp section.
For culprits in the power supply check the transformer, large capacitors, rectifier, voltage control semi-conductors, diodes.
In the amp section any semi-conductor on the heat-sink.

Semi-conductors - transistors and IC's are the biggest cause of fuse blowing. They become short-circuit acting like a piece of wire!
Because of this transistors and diodes are easy to spot with an Ohm Meter, as it will be like you have just touched the probes together.
Very often they have holes, or damage, or have burnt up with this kind of fault.
If it is a fault on the main amp section, check your speaker wiring as the + & - wires could have touched to cause it.

My PSW111 started blowing fuses this week. When I put in a new fuse it blows right away. Went through 4 of them today.

The reason a fuse blows is due to some semi-conductor device now acting like it was a piece of wire. The thing could be either in the power supply part or the main amp device. If you see something like a transistor or IC that's been getting hot or is damaged that will be the culprit. If all OK, If I was you, I would replace first the main part for the amp section. It might be the biggest or on a heatsink.

B;owing fuses, wont power up, just smokes

Hi,

Try checking the reverse protection diode. This diode would normally be connected right after the power connector and would be the biggest diode inside. One way to verify if this is defective and causing the fuse to blow is even with the power switch at the OFF position, the fuse will still blow.

If on the other hand, the reverse protection diode is good and fuse will not blow when power switch is at OFF, then the short/defective component is inside. There would only be two (2) major components that can cause the fuse to blow with the power switch to ON, the final transistor and/or the audio IC.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
