George,
The touchpad may come only preinstalled on the control panel. If that is the case the control panel will connect to the control with a ribbon. In that case you will have to get the entire Panel. If you give me your model # I can look that up for you and let you know prices, part numbers, availability etc. .. Thanks for the question and I hope this will FixYa.

Hotpoint w640 F000 error code

see this mean :Usually means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both.

I am not sure what model of Kenmore Gas Range I have but I get an F10 error and unable to turn on the oven.

Hello Edgar,
The F10 error code means that function key (bake/broil/clean ect) on the touchpad is defective. Sometimes just making sure that the ribbon cable on the touchpad is connected tight into the control board.
The error code could be cleared by pushing CANCEL/OFF button..if error code returns the touchpad would need to be replaced.

Satellite P505 Model S8980 - unable to get TouchPad to work now where it did work before. The TouchPad ON/OFF button nor the Fn+F9 approach are no help. A USB-connected mouse worked fine, tho. Just no...

----- control panel - mouse - see if touch pad disabled there ----- have a look in the bios/setup and see if the touch pad is disabled there, as the PC boots - you should see which key to use to enter the bios/setup F2, F10, DEL KEY are often used ----- On some machines a combination of FN and F key can disable/enable the touch pad - F7 or F9 ----- If you point the mouse to the top of the screen you may get a menu dropdown, which will also tell which key to use to disable/enable the touchpad ----- control panel>system>{vista}lefthand side device manger or {XP}hardware>Device Manager>Mouse and other pointing devices>Touchpad>highlight touchpad and right click, Properties, may be an option here to Disable/enable,

Disable mousepad

hi,
try the Fn+F7 combo, the F7 is usually assigned to the touchpad and is indicated by an icon that's relevant.

This works on most notebooks to turn on or off the touchpad.

. Press F2 or F10 (it varies) to enter your bios setup screens. In these pages is a setting for touch pad only, mouse only or touch pad and mouse or serial. You might check that.

Disabling touch pad

The touchpad should be able to be disabled through the BIOS.

Restart the computer, then push F10 to access the BIOS - if F10 doesn't work, try the other function keys and possibly the ESC key. You should find the option to disable the touch pad within the BIOS settings.

Hotpoint error f10 on model wt740

F10 us usually a stuck key on the keypad. Turn the power off to the machine or kick the breaker off, press each button a number of times to make sure they are not sticking. If you find one sticking try to pop it out. Turn the power back on and try to use it. If the f-10 code returns you will need a new touchpad. Good luck to you and I hope this helped you.
