Hi
the convergence menu is not available for you
but it is for technician in the service menu I would not suggest to do it yourself unless you have previous expérience

Colors dont line up

Hi there,

This is a common issue with Rear Projection TV's, especially after they have been transported or knocked.

You need to carry out a procedure called: CONVERGENCE

Go into your tv's menu and there should be a Convergence option.
Follow the instructions and it will show you how to line up the RED, GREEN & BLUE lines together. Save your settings before exiting the menu.

If done accurately, your picture should improve dramatically.

Cheers,

Same problem, only with RCA model P61926

Projection sets have two very common problems outlined below.

The first common problem is convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. The TV can also shut down when the convergence starts to fail.

Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith, RCA and others.

You can more info and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from TV Repair Kits using the link at the end of this article.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped or bowed
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

RCA R52WH77 convergence missing from menu

THis is very common on these sets. there is a special fuse thats cause this.. kinda hard to get rca part number 259213.. .4 amp. the reason this blows is there is bad solder connections on the flyback. so when you replace this fuse you have to resolder these connections. so if you know how to solder and can find this special fuse. it is a fast and easy repair

He could need the orginal remote or atleast one that is close to get in the service menu for this set. If you did not have the remote or he didnt know how to get into the service menu this could be true.
