Question about IBM ThinkPad T41 Notebook
This may be a defect in the graphics card, since the external monitor (is it properly connected to the VGA-connector and is the power on?) should be recognized automatically and display instead of the internal monitor. The behaviour of the laptop in case an external monitor is connected can sometimes be controlled via the BIOS, which is impossibile to do if the internal monitor or the graphics card doesn't work. I'm afraid that, if you can't reset the BIOS yourself, this may be a case for the repair service.
