SOURCE: printer too slow

Never mind my pessimism. I saw another solution on this site and lo and behold it works!.

Take out your color cartridge. It's the cartridge that is the problem. Not the printer.

SOURCE: my hp 6110 printer is printing at the pace of a cripppled snail.

What resolution are you printing at? There is a setting on the printer itself that you can hit for instant copies or when you select print setup from the computer, go to the printer preferences and you can set the quality of the print from that window.

SOURCE: when recieving a fax the print speed is at a snail

Hi banga1473
Is it slow for all faxes that you receive?
If it is plain text, the fax will print quicker.
Someone send you a fax with pictures and backgrounds, coloured or black, these things will slow the fax.
Ask someone to send you a fax which is plain text only.
Hope this will help you.
If you find this info useful, give a rating

Why does my printer prints a few pages and it slows down to a snail pace

The cause and solution may include one or more of the following:
  • The print head temperature is too high. Make sure the printer is not placed in direct sunlight or is not operating in a high-temperature environment.
  • Cooling vents are blocked or dirty. Check the cooling vents and clear any dirt or obstructions.
  • There are too many applications running on your computer. Close unnecessary software applications.
  • The computer is not running efficiently. Consider upgrading your computer to meet the recommended system requirements.

NOTE: When printing a large number of prints, printing may slow down to prevent the print head from overheating.
See your printer user,s guide for more information.

The printing speed slowed to a snail pace. I pressed Setup, 2, and then 6 to print a self-test report. I got a a "cartridge error" message. Then I removed both cartridges and cleaned them. Still...

This is caused by the failure of one of your cartridges. Remove the black cartridge and print a test page. Does the printer print at normal speed? Is so the black cartridge was the issue and should be replaced. If not then put the black cartridge back in and remove the color cartridge and print test page. If the printer now prints normal speed the color cartridge was at fault and needs to be replaced.

Sounds like you might have the wrong, or old drivers loaded.
Go to the HP site and download and install the latest drivers for your printer.

HP suggests unplugging the printer, press and hold 3 & # while plugging unit back in. Wait until clear appears on the display and you should be back in business. Hope that works.
