Hi I would say blue and red
depending how old is your tv you should check first with screen controls located near
the right side speaker behind the front panel
there are blue red green master screen control along with focus control just turn the controls clockwise and see what happens
if the red and blue do not light up at all the tubes are not involve
good luck

Can i fix my tv screen is red

Toshiba 36A10 36" TV is the model you have indicated---

If the screen is all red and or too bright (no green or blue can be seen) the problem is in one of two places: Either a shorted picture tube or the board that plugs onto the end of the tube.

That board sends red, green, and blue video and information to the picture tube via 3 pins on the tube (the K or cathode for each).

The set will have either 3 IC's on that board or 3 transistors, or a single larger IC for this.

to troubleshoot this:

I would locate the Red Cathode and unsolder that pin at the socket on that board--takes red out---if you have green and blue picture then---it is either the IC/transistor that feeds that on the board or the tube itself.

If it has 3 chips (usually will each have a metal plate attached for cooling) you can either remove and replace the red one OR what I do is swap it with the green or blue chip---if suddenly you now have a blue or green only screen you know that part is bad--simple as that.

If for any reason the picture tube turns out to be bad--you are finished and so is the set= way too expensive to replace it.

Let me know if you have questions or need advice.

Tip

Tv looks 3-D

if the picture is cloudy or dull looking you need to replace the coolant inside the picture tubes but if the set looks 3-D than you need to go to the convergence menu in the main menu, if the red, blue and green does not move up and down as well as side to side, left or right.or maybe they move but not far enough you need to change the convergence ics and maybe some resistorsyou can go here for a full kit of parts to repair this problem, you get everything you need to do both repairs and is easy to do, your savings by doing it yourself can be up to 400- to 550.00 bucks Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} http://www.tvrepairkits.com/xcart/home.php?partner=larry

I have a Zenith SB2531N console tv. I think the tube is going out on it. The picture is green for the most part. Every now and then it will flicker in clear and the picture will be fine for a while. Want...

Zenith was very well known for having bad pix tubes...and it was usually the green gun that was affected...there is a place in Illinois that carries the zenith line of replacement parts ... the website is www.ued.net and the name of the co. is Union Electronic Distributors....you may need to go to the website and get their ph # to talk to a rep....you will need the model no and serial no of the set to get a replacement tube...a word of caution though...pix tubes are very expensive ,,,,so dont be alarmed if it costs 500.00 or more

Screen is turning purple and green dose this cost lots to fix?

It sounds like your tube Shadow Mask may have got magnetised and need to be degaussed.

Turn off your TV at the mains and unplug it for at least two to three hours. Longer the better. After that time power up your TV it should degauss the tube at power up.

Worth a try before you give up on it. Or else get your picture tube replaced. It may be more economical than purchasing a new television. Also try to have the picture tube of an old color T.V as modern picture tubes lacks quality when compared to older ones. But check those tubes thoroughly before buying it.

53 inch projection tv...seems like the color red and color blue have shifted giving me a picture with red and blue shadows

For CRT projection TV's, this indicates that the Green picture tube is burned (warn out). The less green that strikes the screen, the more redish the image will look. You will need to find an old school TV repair shop that knows how to replace picture tubes.
In the case of a DLP style TV, the color wheel needs replacing.

No Power

Try removing the Green CRt PC voard that is on the bottom of the green Picture tube which is the center one. Then replace the fuse and see if your set powers up if it does you need a new gree tube. Just be sure the crt board doesnt touch anything while you try it. then let me know what happened, if you need a tube they arent available new any longer but I have a source for good used picture tubes,

42H82 Picture is ALL GREEN

If the picture is all green and does not shutdown then is probably not the tube and you need to check the green output transistor witch is ussually located in the crt board in the neck of the green tube, you also have an IC that gives the colors then you have a driver and finally the output,(IC and driver rarely go bad but is possible),when you pull the board out of the tube make sure it comes out easy,do not twist the board because it might brake the pins in the tube(gun) and then we will have big problems, many times they secure the board to the tube with silicone and it needs to be removed or cut before the board will come out. Each gun has an output and the defective one should be replaced with an exact replacement.Check also the conections in the green crt board.Let us know if you need more information.
