If you have Windows Mail, you no doubt are running Windows Vista. Sorry, but Outlook Express is not supported in Vista. You are stuck with Windows Mail or a third-party mail client. FYI, I use Thunderbird and am quite satisfied. It works with Windows XP through Windows 7
PRF extension - (Outlook Profile File) User profile referenced by Microsoft Outlook that contains user information and preferences; includes mail account settings, signatures, references to mail folders, and other settings; when Outlook imports a PRF file, the user profile settings are immediately updated.
PRF files can also be created using Microsoft's Office Resource Kit; the files can then be deployed to multiple systems using the Custom Installation Wizard (CIW) or other maintenance wizard included with the Office Resource Kit.
You have to install microsoft outlook on Vista to be able to read the file.
You have to disable your proxy settings from internet explorer. Open internet explorer. Click on tools >> internet options >> Connections >> LAN settings >> uncheck everything and then click on ok >> ok
and then close internet explorer and check your outlook is working well or not.
That's not a problem with Vista, rather it's most likely a problem with the web server. Make sure you entered all your web server information in correctly (pop3, SMPT, etc), and make sure your mail server supports MS Outlook 2007. Just double check everything. If that doesn't work, try completely un-installing and re-installing Outlook 2007. If all fails, try downloading a 3rd party mail application and see if that works.
