We have a MP830 Canon - Faxes/copies are printing with text missing; appears to be missing every three lines or so. I have cleaned the printer head; auto aligned it but still printing with missing text. ...

I service this unit a lot for print quality issues, and most of them come from using non-Canon brand ink. There is a solvent quality to the Canon ink that helps keep the printhead from clogging.
If you are not using it, I recommend it, especially for the big #5 ink tank.
Alignment has nothing to do with the missing print.
Use the cleaning utility in the maintenance area of the printer driver utilities to clean the printhead.
Run the nozzle check, and you should see improvement with each cleaning. Do not run the cleaning more than maybe 5 times, and never use the deep cleaning, you are just wasting a lot of ink.
If you don't see any improvement, stop cleaning and take the unit in for service - we have sonic washers and other effective methods for cleaning and flushing the printheads without damage.
You can replace the printhead yourself, but it will cost less to have it cleaned.

On my canon mp830 i have full ink however its printing nothing but very faint

You will need a shop to replace the purge assembly if it's not cleaning and priming the printhead properly, also you can replace the printhead yourself as they do wear out or plug when not used at least a couple times each week.

Error 5200 on start up of Cannon MP830 printer

Error 5200 on the MP830 is for a printhead temperature warning. The Canon service manual suggests two causes of action. Firstly replace the printhead or secondly the logic board. Printhead can be replaced at a cost (Part number QY6-0061-010 about £50) but if you know someone with the same model try their printhead first because it might be the logic board.

I have a canon mp830 error code 6a00.

That error means the purge assembly is jammed. Check for paper caught in the right side where the printhead parks, if all clear you will need a new purge assembly. A shop repair for sure....

Alarm light stays on and can not use machine cannon mp830

There's a good chance that the printhead is bad, if the printhead is not locked in the corner, remove the inks and printhead and try power, if it comes on get a new printhead, if you have an error code, let me know what it is and we'll go from there...

Message says to install print head and set the ink tank

I'm guessing this MP830 is not brand new so I'm going to get you to reverse the process so we can check what's in there.

1. Remove the cartridges
2. Lift the grey arm on the carriage (the bit that holds the cartridges and printhead)
3. Gently pull the printhead forward and out of the carriage unit

From here on in you need to check that:
a) you have a printhead after all (if you couldn't find a printhead then this explains your problem immediately)
b) the printhead is not soiled on the back where all the electrical contacts are
c) that the carriage unit has all the copper pins in place and none of them are bent, broken off, or otherwise damaged.

If the printhead is missing entirely or simply not responding and there's no problem with the pins in the carriage (#3 above) then the simplest solution is to contact Canon and order a new printhead (ref: QY6-0061). Canon in the USA provide the cheapest printheads and I'm guessing that's where you're based.

Once that arrives, install properly and then you should (hopefully) be good to go... While you're waiting though, I'd recommend putting the orange caps back on the cartridge ink ports to stop them drying out.

Hope that helps.

Your printhead solution

When you take the printhead out, you only see the contacts (metal pads) which make contact with the printhead cradle found fixed on the printer shaft. The pins will be seen on this part and not on the printhead.

CANON MP830 all in one is sayin" the type of printhead is incorrectn Install the correct Printhead."

Hi follow the instructions as above...
ie Remove inks and print head...

But instead...
Whilst Canon print head is out...

Use cotton wool and alcohol and clean electrical contacts on back of print head and where they make contact inside printer.

Then install print head and inks and test.

If it does not work you may need to replace print head.
