Here are two ways to stop thorn damage in any type of tire

and fill the tire with urethane foam instead of air.

How to Avoid Bike Tire Punctures?

Don't skimp on tire and tube quality. It's worth it! Match the size and type of tire to your riding. Some tires are made for speed, and some are made to be puncture resistant. Inflate tires to the proper amount (use a gauge), as too low or too high, can increase punctures.

Tube sealants keep bikes from getting flats!

When it comes to fixing and preventing flat tires on bikes there are many options from tire liners to puncture proof tires, but I have found that tube sealants have been the best solution. Tube sealants can be used to fix existing punctures in your tires and can work as a preventative measure against future punctures. Making them a great fix and first line of defense!

They're also super easy to apply, you just inject the sealant into the tire through the air valve on the tire. The sealant works to coat the inside of the tube protecting you from any future punctures and if there is a hole in your tire it will fill and seal off the hole. A simple solution for a very big problem!

How many kilometers can you drive with a tubeless tire puncture? will it harm the tire or the wheel? at what speed you can drive with the puncture?

Unless you have those "Run-Flat" tires, the answer is "No further than it takes you to safely get out of traffic. One should NEVER run on a flat if it can be avoided, as the sidewalls of the tire can be damaged very quickly. Even with run-flat tires, you still should change it ASAP, but you have a little longer before damage sets in. Your tubeless tires, completely flat and assuming 30 MPH, will probably start showing serious damage in a block or two. Note that tire sidewall damage can not be repaired.

I have a large locust tree growing close to the foundation of a building and adjacent blacktop sidewalk in the community where I live. My concern is the damage the root system may cause to the buildi

Locust Trees (like many other varieties ) have root systems that easy reach out as far as the foliage and beyond, especially in ares were root growth may be obstructed by buildings or soil may be poor or the tree lacks proper water. A contractor said to me once about such an issue ... "If the tree lives, the roots always win." Many varieties of locust have shallow rooting systems and eventually will lift sidewalks or crack cement.25167623-m2gmjme2lggf3syeo4u4b11f-1-0.jpg

A solid poured concrete foundation may withstand the pressure of the roots for an extended period of time, especially if it is thick and strong. Block concrete offers less resistance.

Most contractors and landscapers will suggest you plan to take the tree out in the near future

Defy problems

Do you have a neighbour who hates you? I do ride bikes for 60 years now, and never had two punctures in a row within half a year. Actually last 10 years only one puncture in one of my tires, and from the place I could deduce someone had pressed something sharp from the side into the tire. So nothing from the oad.
And the newer tires, are almost not to puncture when driving on a road. It must be someone punching in these holes. Because if some sharp thing pointing up on your road your front tire would have been punctured at least once or twice too.

I have an s-type jag 3litre sport reg 2001. i thought i had a puncture so i replaced the tyre, 2 weeks later flat again.the tyre guy said there could be a problem with the rim no getting a good seal i...

besides the rim problem, which he could have corrected by applying bead sealer, the stem could be defective or the rim could be cracked.

to fix a rim leak, clean the area on the tire where the tire meets the rim. make sure there are no nicks or tears along that area. clean the rim along the surface where the tiremeet the rim, no corrosion or debris. apply bead sealer to the cleaned area and mount the tire to the rim and inflate.

to check the tire for leaks, fill a spray bottle with water and add a short squirt of dishwashng liquid. over inflate the tire to about 45psi. remove the tire and lay it flat on the ground. saturate the area where the rim meets the tire. wait awhile to see if bubbles form. repeat for the other side. also spray the valve stem, tread and sidewall area. do this slowly while looking for bubbles, sraying liberally. you might need more soap in the solution depending on the concentration of the dishwashing liquid.

To the best of my knowledge, most "sealers" only work as "emergency" repairs. How well they work largely depends on the size and location of the puncture. There are several tire plugs I trust, the best being Bowes (available to repair shops) Again, depending upon size & location, sometimes it is wise to use a internal patch with re-enforcing cord built in. If the sidewall or area within one inch of sidewall on tread is punctured, that area flexes considerably and is prone to failure after repair. That requires replacement not repair.
