Question about Delphi Roady XT XM Radio Receiver
If you can do it, try your car mount in the house, as long as you can supply power via the car plug (12-volts DC). If it does the same thing as the home kit, then you more than likely have an intermittent antenna connection on your home antenna.
Also, check the location of your antenna vs any obstructions, such as trees. You may have the reception worked out so that you have signal from the antenna, but it is "breaking up" from a connector or cable short or open condition. Check the coax for any chaffing also.
