I presume you are talking about a Satellite receiver here. Try disconnecting the antenna and see if the fuse still blows. Sometimes a shorted antenna/coaxial cable situation will stress the circuitry and cause a fuse to blow, or simply shut down. If this helps then correct the antenna problem before continuing.

If it still blows, then you probably have other electronic problems within the receiver, which will require service by the factory or other service center.

I hope this sheds some light on your problem. Thanks.

Ok. I thought we were in a Satellite radio mistake. Concerning this problem with your receiver: Usually when this happens there is an overload in a speaker circuit, or in the final amplifier stages of the receiver. Make certain there are no shorts in your speaker wiring.

I have a Sony unit that had the same problem, and it turned out to be a defective final amplifier stage. I know this not what you need to hear, so, maybe yours does not have this problem. Try turning off the speakers, and going through just headphones...see if it still shuts the system down. These are some steps you can try before turning to service on the unit.

I hope your receiver is ok, and its just speaker wiring. Thanks for clarifying the question.

    Regards, Bill

Why does my radio fuse keep blowing?

Because your radio is shorting out or you have a pinched wire somewhere in wire harness. Fastest way to find out is remove radio and disconnect all wires, then plug another fuse in. If it blows than its a wire problem, if it doesn't radio is bad.

This is a suzuki king quad lt 300 atv. blows main power fuse when the regulator is plugged in and the switch off.unplug regulator and fuse don't blow.

This is easy - replace your regulator. You probably have one or more shorted diodes (or transistors) in the regulator and/or the bridge rectifier between the alternator and the battery.

Diodes 'convert' AC made by an alternator into "DC" used by the battery. It does this by clipping off one-half of the power cycle. You can check a diode for proper operation using a flash light battery, a flash light lamp and a short piece of wire. A normal diode will let current pass in only one direction - the light will light when wired one way and not light when reversed. If it lights in both directions, the diode is bad. I dont know how to test a transistor. The repair in either case is replacement of the part. You cannot change a diode or a transistor in either component. If the part is obsolete, you may have to have a part built by an electronics technician.

Good luck with your repair and thanks for your interest in

Samick sga 120 amp keeps blowing fuses. replaced all rectifier diodes and tranformer seems to be working fine. any suggestions?

Fuse blowing is due to excessive current drain and the the first clue is the blown fuse itself. If the fuse blows with a flash a bang and splatters copper across the inside of the glass you have a hard blow caused by a dead short on the power supply, check for power switch flashing over internaly. Short circuit main filter capacitors. Shorted turns in power transformer primary winding. If fuse just separates check for short on output transistors C to E. Try isolating fault by disconnecting LT pos/neg supplies to output stage. Also check for partial shorts on speakers and speaker wires using an analog ohm meter on low ohms setting.

Ps3 blows fuse at plug

It sounds like you're using a damaged power strip; however, this issue can be caused by a bad outlet.

Replace the fuse and plug the unit into a different outlet. If the fuse blows, you need to go to a video game store an purchase a new power strip.

Proform 570 blowing fuse

there are generally two control boards, I am assuming you looked at the lower one. I would first disconnect the power leads at the board and see if it still blows the circuit breaker (fuse?). If it does the check wiring for short. If OK then reconnect power leads and then disconnect all other wires (plug-ins) to the board and try again, each time plug a connection in and retry. (remember to disconnect power each time). I have a feeling the smoke got let out of this lower board and may need replacement. hope this helps
