No, there isn't. This is a safety function to prevent theft. You HAVE to get the password from the former owner. Sorry. I hope you weren't sold a stolen laptop.

All the best.

Bought an ipad and apparently it was stolen please help activate it

Your best bet is to report it to the police. It is the right thing to do and if it has the latest os you probably have no other good options as it would not be possiable to restore without the previous owners password. They do this so it they are stolen they become useless and the criminal will have little choice except to sell it to some one who doesn\'t know any better. If that someone was you, you are also the victim of a crime and should report it. At least the origional owner might get it back and might say thank you. At best, with both your description of the seller and that of the origional victim, the cops might just be able to catch the P.O.S. who caused all the trouble. On the other hand if you are the one who stole it, well no one can help you here as your problems are deep and far reaching, probably requiring professional help on an ongoing basis, and I wish you good luck.
I hope you are not the thief. However, if you had any idea that it might have been stolen when you bought it well then you deserve this hasssel. If either way, go to the cops because you aren\'t going to be able to make it work and if you try to sell it the next guy might go to them and they will come find you. Also if the person had "find my iPad" turned on they probably have your gps location already and you better have a good story ready for when the man comes a callin. Best to get out in front of this. If they do ever catch the thief you might even get some restitution. At least you will be able to sleep better at night knowing you did the right thing. Someone really liked that thing and it hurt to have it taken. You just might restore thier faith in humanity. Just give them this gift.

My laptop is reading the pen drive, opening and operating all files but i'm not able to transfer any file to pen drive, although i can transfer files from pendrive to desktop. kindly provide the solution...

if there is no security password or write protect switch (this would be a small switch on the side of the pen drive) then it may be your pc not allowing cut and paste transfer. Try right-clicking on the file you wish to move to the pen drive, click "copy" then right click the pen drive icon and click"paste" this would copy the file to the drive instead of moving it. Moving the file is effectively, copying it to the drive and deleting the origional and if the origional has password or other forms of increased security/priority the pc won't allow it to be deleted or moved.
good luck.

Loud hum when Bose Companion 3 Series II speakers are turned on.

I had the same problem for many months. I asked a sound & video professional and he suggested I move the subwoofer away from any power source. I had the subwoofer next to my UPS. Once separated and moved all wiring away from the power supply (about 12") the low bass hum was practically gone.

Dell laptop

That white screen is asking for your bios password. You probably set that the last time you did changes in the bios. If you bought the laptop second hand and the previous owner forgot to give you the password, contact him, or if you can not and/or do not remember the password you set, you have to contact dell, and they can give you a password for it, is no problem for a computer you own. You can chat to them here:

https://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/en/chat?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs

They're gonna ask you for the original owner information before they'llhelp you though. If you don't have the original information (ie youbought it second hand or off someone), you'll have to do a transfer ofownership. You need to give them the service tag and the express servicecode, that are on a sticker somewhere on the computer (bottom in case oflaptops). Enter the info in the required previous owner fields. Enterall your contact info and submit. It should transfer in a few minutes. Here's the link:

http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/change_order/en/tag_transfer

Let me know if this helped:)

I lost my BIOS password

You will have to contact Gateway (or the manufacturer of the laptop) and ask them what you need to do to remove the bios password. Without an exact model number no one here can provide you with a 3rd party solution.

Most laptops made in the last few years require you to send the laptop back to the manufacturer and provide proof you are the origional owner of the laptop to remove a BIOS password as many BIOS passwords set up to prevent data theft.

How do i fit new ram.

Hi,
try fitting 2 different modules in the orange slots, and 2 different modules in the purple.
Also ensure that you have the ram configured correctly in the systems bios setup page.
If they are cutting out, or continually restarting the computer, you,ll probably have to enable Dual Channel Ram configuration in the Bios.
