Question about Dell Dimension 2400 PC Desktop
You may try this: Click Start > Right click on "My Computer" > Select "Properties" > Hardware Tab > "Device Manager" button > Click the "+" next to "Network adapters" > Right click on your Ethernet adapter > select "Properties" > select Driver tab > select "Roll Back Driver" button (third button down on the left side). This will work if an updated driver is at fault.
If the above fails you could then try Right Clicking on your device in Device Manager and select "Uninstall", and after uninstalling reboot and let Windows New found Hardware Wizard pick up the device and try to correct the fault. Otherwise if the Adapter is integrated you can look for updated driver at Dell's Support site, and if added on (via PCI slot) check at the adapters Manufacturer's site for the proper driver.
If all else fails, replace the Network adapter.
